Official 2016 PGA pick'em thread

So, I've always loved playing and watching golf; and I have decided to try and get lucky on some tournaments this year and post my predictions every week so you guys can get in on the fun too!  

DISCLAIMER: I AM IN NO WAY AN EXPERT! I just like watching golf.

Golf is a pretty enjoyable sport to watch, in that you can sit around the house and watch a tournament for hours and drink beer... Right up my alley if you ask me.  When it comes to betting, it produces very good odds if you win, even if you pick a heavy favorite (like Jordan Spieth).  I'm going to post up my picks with betting amounts here for you guys to follow and/or participate if you're feeling froggy yourself   .  

More than likely I'll bet on a favorite and a dark horse contender.

I feel that Jordan Spieth is just now starting to get back into the groove of things ever since his bust out 2015 year.  I have a good feeling he'll bust out here and shake off those cob webs.

Bill Haas simply just does good at Riviera.  He has been in the top 25 from 2011-2014 here (winning in 2012), and has started off the season pretty nicely.  I think he'll be a long shot to win, but I think it would be the best chance at winning with high odds since he'll be a likely contender there.

Don't believe me Here are some other mention worthy contenders I'd reccommend : Dustin Johnson & K.J. Choi

UPDATE:  I've decided to go with K.J. Choi on this one since his odds are a lot better (190) and I feel he has just as equal of a chance to win with Bill Haas.  I'm keeping my .01 bet with Spieth as a back up plan. Good luck everyone.

Yeah, I feel you on that one... betting on golf has the advantage of having such a massive field in every tournament, so it's like horse racing X 50.  Favorites obviously won't win every time, but I feel like it's nice to hedge your bets on a "favorite" and not put all your eggs in one basket.  That way, you can play a long shot without having the feeling you're essentially just pissing in the wind and throwing money away.

I personally like the feeling of hedging 50/50 : favorite/darkhorse.
