Very interesting. It's nice to see developers from the world's largest software company being excited about BTC. I wonder what's next. If Google could pay the webmasters who have an Adsense account with BTC, that would be fantastic. Am I dreaming, or is it possible?
You'd be dreaming for that. @ontopic This is a good thing, I hope this could be the start and soon we'll be seeing in-app payments using BTCBTCBTC

The video itself seems a bit outdated I believe.Price they show in the video is around $258 and existing companies in the ecosystem are Mt.Gox , Tradehill, Buttercoin. So my guess is that google is having an eye on Bitcoin for some while already, but might have stepped back after all the drama we saw the last 2-3 years. And now where the ecosystem and infrastructure shows again positive signs due to investments, new startups, development in general and hype because of "Blockchain", google seems to be back. I'm really curious what more we will see and here from them.

Now it will not be helped anymore. The media sooner or later will have to take Bitcoin seriously. Guess it's very true how it will revolutionarize the whole idea of currency systems.

I was expecting some crappy generic video about "crypto currency" judging by the title, but it turns out it's actually a pretty decent Bitcoin video. I wish they used Bitcoin in the actual tittle tho, they talked about Bitcoin so why not add Bitcoin in the tittle and get some extra traffic.

Nice video, if a huge organisation like Google says anything remotely positive about bitcoin then it can only ever be positive.
I pray that bitcoin gets more mainstream recognition in the next year or two. Adoption has slowed down & we need something to push us forward again.

You have to read between the lines, they do that because sadly "Bitcoin" is a bad word for many people and that's why it will be very hard to get adopted by big companies or institutions, there's just too many negative incidents related to it and for the average user Bitcoin equals scammers, hacks, silk road, drugs, money laundering and even terrorism. At least not directly but in the back of their minds it's still there. Bitcoin should move away from not being regulated, to me it has done more harm than good. Being decentralized is great but we need more regulation so more people and companies can jump in.

Great video and great news! I didn't get future development or Google implementation from that just some admiration which is great but far from Bitcoin taking over Google in the Play Store... With Bitcoin one never knows, I still feel there are a lot of negative issues surrounding it and it needs a lot of good vibes if it truly wants another chance to go mainstream.

It's been evident Google has been on our side. They've given us tools to experiment with the blockchain, work with it, and also keep an eye on the price increase and decrease. We have total control of our Bitcoin because of Google, so thank you Google.

Do Larry, Sergey, and Eric exercise editorial control over what the developers might have to say in a YouTube clip?

As I said I believe google is watching Bitcoin for a while now. And now it seems they decided to make the first steps of announcing their interest to the public.Definitely a good sign.

Could be the last chance for Google to succeed over Apple / Samsung pay and others. BTW, does not Google have a banking licence? So they would be biggest BitcoinBank on earth if they would embrace it.
