This will be the first PC I've ever put together. Do i need to buy anything else? Any thoughts? I also want to use it for light computing/word processing/browsing. Thoughts on GPU choice? I don't have too much more room in leeway for my budget, but can afford slightly more if there's a better value on anything. THANKS!

I also have an older monitor, a mouse and keyboard already. What else do I need? If I plug in all the parts and throw in a windows CD... it boots up and runs... right? *hopefully*

Are you going to be doing anything other than mining from this machine?

Nothing major. Schoolwork, word processing, internet browsing... possibly light gaming if I ever buy a sound card.

eww, 6870. if you're serious about mining, you will get a 5850, or a 5830

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

TigerDirect still had some 5830's last I checked, but I think they were all $200+. I'm not able to check at the moment, sorry.

6870, in terms of mining is a pure rip off. pay $190 for a card that performs the same as a $100 card (5830). Just look hard, you will find them Wink

$212 plus shipping, and it doesn't look like a reference card. Dunno how well it cools with that weird fan. Plus, it's kinda pricey for a 5830. No need for a tip Tongue The Mrs. says I can't get any more GPU's until I make some money XD
