I used to meet at a local library for transactions and we would get small studying room (free). It is personal, private, but still public enough to avoid violent theft
It is good to hear that you have the opportunity of a private discussion room where you can handle all the matters related to trading in your personal way. Trading in today’s world has become a difficult task just because the privacy o the people is much vulnerable to be breeched by the hackers. So I think that everyone must seek some sort of safety measurements to avoid a loss.

Guys.. how can you be sure the pruduct seller dont run away just after you transferred your BTC to hes Bitcoin Adress?
This is where the public place comes in to play. Not only does it make sure you won't get robbed at gunpoint, but you can also get help fast if needed. If you have to, then have the person meet you in a police station or some public place within a walking distance of one. This will insure that the police can arrive there as quick as possible if needed. If you're selling a very large amount, carry a taser. If he starts to run away, hit him with the taser and call the police. I'd be more worried about someone trying to rob me at gunpoint than I would be about them running away right after sending the funds. You could catch them rather easily. If they get into a car, get the license plate number.
When you are trying to have a transaction to the other people you met through online better while you are having a conversation to them get some validation of information as a proven to have a legitimate transaction most of the common problem today is no information of the other party wants to transact if you don't want better to make a meetup transaction to verify the items or get some midman to handle both things and make sure the security of the traders.
^ this 100%. Whenever you're dealing with someone its always important to know who they are if possible and understand their background / have knowledge of their background if you can.

Thank you very much for this thread.
I can see that there is need to be cautious to buy BTC using fiat. Never thought that a seller could run with the money and BTC. The only concern for me, it's the advice to meet in place that has surveillance, because one advantage of using BTC is the anonymity which is lost by meeting at a public place with security cameras surrounding.

It is always a good idea to have contingencies into plan, especially when meeting people for a local, face-to-face transaction. Public spaces are the best and if they have surveillance cameras even better but even then I imagine the situation would be tense as I'm not sure how involved the authorities will get, if it goes all wrong given that is crypto? Btw does any of you guys know the answer to this?

The problem is that bitcoin is not regulated in any way, there are no organizations that can help with this asset if something goes wrong or you are facing some kind of fraud, which is why working with bitcoin has its own features and is not the safest. Although it cannot be denied that there is a good opportunity to make money. Since this asset will not be produced anymore, the number of bitcoins is decreasing every year. That is, there will definitely be a deficit, which will inevitably lead to an incredible increase in price. Who would have thought then, buying a bitcoin for three dollars, that all this would have such a prospect. You just have to think every step forward and really check all the data.

You were right about using proven resources with a good reputation and proven terms of cooperation. Because there are consequences. I've seen articles about bitcoin fraud once before and it shocked me because these situations happen all the time and it's really scary. I think I was initially so impressed that I didn't even work with bitcoin at all for a while, and I avoided it with all my might. But in fact, all you have to do is not do anything stupid by yourself. So you just have to gather as much information as possible so that you can work really safely. And then everything will be fine. I mean, the prospects for this asset are big enough.

Surely, first of all you have to choose the right trader with good reputation and pick a safe public place.
Now that most of the big cities are in quarantine I still prefer to trade my crypto remotely. If you're looking to process a big deal you can do it remotely with a very reputable middleman, though there's always some risks involved.

Hi. How are you?
I'm looking for someone who makes the change from PayPal to Crypto.
PayPal is business verified on my name.
I need to buy 2 BTC and please send me offers with a commission if there is anyone online who deals with this business.
Thanks in advice.

You probably need to check on Marketplace or P2P websites like Hodlhodl. This is not the thread to make such offers so there's a low chance you'll get any offer. Not to mention Paypal transaction is generally risky for crypto tx.

Every time you want to do something you must always think about the good and bad things we will do, I agree with the colleagues above to always look for and choose traders who already have a reliable reputation and actually have a lot of information if you want to find it here or ask the forums in your home country you.
Because in the current situation, there are still restrictions that still apply, of course if you meet directly there will be problems.
if I prefer it is better to do it in the usual way even though it is done little by little, the important thing is that it is safe and can be finished and there will be no problems that will occur.
because it will not guarantee that those who will carry out the transaction will be trustworthy, of course need to be vigilant because the funds are quite large.

Actually there is 3 kinds of method for transaction or to cash your coins.
1. Meeting
If you are transferring a big amount you should do this by helding a meeting with the buyer.
It is the safest transaction method. You can easily transfer your amount while the person is in front of you. There is no risk in this method.
2. Transfer in Portion
If your amount is not so big to held o meet up or not so small to transfer all together you should follow this method.
In this method you have to divide your amount in 2/3 parts. Then u have to send the first portion and have to wait for the seller to send your amount.
Then you just have to repeat the method.
3. All in
If your amount is too small. You should better to transfer your all amount despite using the above methods. For small amount u cant afford the cost of those methods.
But make sure that the seller worth your trust.

There is always a risk regardless of the method. For example, you need to remember to check the tx confirmation. Making a deal with 0-confirmation tx is risky even if you meet offline. And choose the place and time you make a deal wisely.

Even if we say that the amount we transact or divide it into small parts is not large, it is still possible to avoid being fooled, especially if you do not know the person behind his profile. When you are surrounded by suspicion and you do not see anything that can prove that he is legit and verified do not continue. Even if he has evidence to show, it's still not sure that those are his because it can be forged. Or if you ask for his identification there is also no destination if he has identity theft. It is also not safe to transact online especially with unknown users.
If you continue to try it, they may victimize you after you send your first payment and once they receive it they will block you immediately.

Thank you for sharing these info, it will really help for newbies in local trading a lot, indeed the world is full of evil people and scammers, so having precautions in mind and follow strict rules should be the key towards a safe trade without any regrets. It surely makes sense to why most of us do online trading because risks of getting scammed there are lower since there are escrows, so generally when there were two offers in my past from traders in my city, I actually gave them link to my localbitcoin account so that we can just trade online and save transportation fees and time haha
but trading offline has their own advantages too, as you mentioned, if followed by the rules, they are safer than online ones if one isn't careful.

The author forgot to add to use vpn which is essential in public places like mcdonald. Secondly, you should have adequate knowledge how to use it because weak vpn is dns leaks and more

For the purpose of just checking the transaction on the mempool, VPN is a bit overkill imo. You could bring another device if you really need the wifi, if not, I think using your mobile phone internet should be good enough (at least in my area the price is cheap enough for most people). It's not like you have to stay online for hours just to see the transaction (even if you're buying things, I doubt it will take hours).

I speak for turkey. ı opened a small business in a city with a population of 100.000 in turkey. sport complex. but things are bad. I think the level of culture of the people in the place where the business is going to be opened is very important. some cultures do not like to get services and pay him. the service you give is not a matter of water even if you want to drink free of charge. I first to determine the socio-economic status and socio-cultural levels of the people around the place.
Hello sir,
Do you still have your business opened? And where in Turkey?
Thanks

If you want to do business locally, you have to know what other people are most interested in in your area, if your business with turkey is failing and the results are bad, then you have to dare to try other businesses.
you must be clever looking for opportunities to be able to benefit ..
