I agree they have a lot of good projects and they spend a lot of funds on this,but the community is the heart of any coin project,they should build massive advertising for this coin,a dedicated forum is a good way to start and if you look at supports here, people seldom post here for support.

We ran a Facebook advertisement campaign to test the waters a little while ago. We have over 275 members in our Slack (http://Belacoin.herokuapp.com), and that's where we have all of our day-to-day discussion. We post here to update those who are reading through the forum to learn about us, but all of our active members talk in the Slack.

Is this a relaunch coin? they are going to celebrate their first year but look only 27 pages,compare to other new coins that can easily generate 50 post within 3 months,there are a lot of gaps in the update and it seems investors are not aware of this coin,the only time i notice this coin is the chesscoin ico,where you can use it to invest in chess ico..

Belacoin did go through a dormant period months ago.

We took charge of Belacoin around November 11th and have picked things up since then. Our accomplishments in the past 2 and a half months include the following:

• Redesigning the logo
• Creating http://Belacoin.org
• Releasing a working Windows Wallet
• Releasing a working Mac Wallet
• Creating a Slack channel for the community with over current 275 members
• Actively maintaining a Twitter account for Belacoin with over 1,000 followers
• Giving away $500 worth of Belacoin as a promotion
• Giving away $1,500 in funding to Belacoin-related businesses
• Petitioning the Colombian Federal Government
• Working to create Belacam: The cryptocurrency version of Instagram
• Leading Belacoin to a market capitalization of over $600,000 (achieved two days ago)
• Writing and Releasing Belacoin's whitepaper
• Committing ourselves to continue to work with the same dedication and respect for Belacoin as we have for the past two and a half months

Our favorite milestone has been the community that has come together in our Slack (http://Belacoin.herokuapp.com). Discussion is intelligent and analytical, and community members have helped us greatly in our work with Belacam.

Our trackable goal, as stated before, is to build Belacam up to the point of an acquisition. The greater Belacoin is, the better chance Belacam will have of being acquired. The work we have done so far lays the foundation for this, and we will continue to work in this manner.

We are aware that the Belacoin market is temporarily frozen on Poloniex. This happens quite frequently as the support team does maintenence work on cryptocurrencies traded on there. These freezes are nothing out of the ordinary.

Our best guess for the reason behind freezing Belacoin is that the recent increase in volume has spurred the need for more maintenance work. Before we took over, Belacoin's volume would frequently be less than .5btc per day. These past few days, Belacoin has maintained volume in the hundreds of bitcoins, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars.

To keep up with demand, the team has likely had to do some work to update the wallets and infrastructure running Belacoin's market. We released new and updated Windows and Mac wallets in December, and it is possible that Poloniex is currently switching over to those wallets. The Belacoin Daemon wallet was also updated as our Github code has been recently updated.

Regardless of the reason, the moderators on Poloniex have stated that the team is working quickly to unfreeze the markets as soon as their work is done.

Belacam has a peer-to-peer payment system, so it's less complicated than Steemit. When user A likes user B's photo, user A gives 1 Belacoin to user B.

Also, Belacoin has block reward halvings built into its system. This ensures that there are many years ahead of us until the last Belacoin is mined. A few decades ahead of us when the last Belacoin is mined, blocks can still be found. This is because transaction fees will reward the miners. In fact, it is likely that sometime before the last Belacoin is found, the block reward is so small (due to halvenings) that the transaction fees provide the miners with more revenue than the block reward does.

We do not have a timeframe on when the Belacoin market will be unfrozen on Poloniex. The moderators of Poloniex have confirmed that the market is frozen for Belacoin's wallet maintenance (we released new wallets and updated the GitHub code in December).

Here are some official words from Poloniex moderators in the Trollbox:
Thoth: "support is working to resolve the site issues as we speak."
smallbit: "Your bela is not going anywhere" (meaning your Belacoin funds are safe and secure)

We do not have knowledge on the workings of their exchange. It is likely a lot more complicated than simply downloading and syncing the new wallet. Another potential scenario is that they started the update and ran into some other error halfway (for example, say the programmer tasked with making the switch got sick or some other larger issue came up, and he had to leave to go fix that).

Please keep in mind that these are only our guesses. We do know that the Poloniex team is working as quickly as they possibly can to fix it.

Could you kindly point me to the right github repo, it seems I missed this update. The repo linked from the OP says:
Latest commit d631061 on 8 Apr 2014 and I couldn't find any other repo mentioned recently in this thread.

The most recent update was made around on December 15th, 2016.

It has been a crazy (and inaccurate) day with the markets being frozen on Poloniex and the price surge on NovaExchange. Unfortunately, the market cap and price that coinmarketcap.com shows is necessarily indicative of Belacoin's real price and value at the moment, although we're working hard to bring it there.
