I've had this address in my address book for a few months.  I always thought it was a coincidence that the start of it looked like a satoshidice address, but I thought of it no longer

I've just taken a closer look and noticed it is a satoshidice address!

how in the hell did this happen?!?

EDIT : Figured out the issue. click here.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I had this bug too, one address I sent coins to suddenly appeared in my revive tab.

It was gone after I restarted Bitcoind.

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

It's been in my wallet a while. Through many restarts as well.

Anyone know how to remove it?

There are several nasty bugs with the addressbook in 0.7.2. You can take a look at my pull over here:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/2157

If you are on Windows you can try out this test-binary from BitcoinPullTester:
http://jenkins.bluematt.me/pull-tester/e6d230056202b05a27f187dff2648eb5c76fcfee/bitcoin/bitcoin-qt.exe

Otherwise perhaps you are able to compile bitcoin-qt and verify this fixes your problem.

I figured out what happened!

It's the renaming bug.  When I renamed one of my addresses it pulled an address out of my address book and renamed that too! (& put it in the receiving coins section)

I gave it a restart and it was gone.

replicated it, and happened again.

The patch got merged, so it will be included in 0.8 Smiley.
