I am still surprised Bitcoin is not more popular among gamers population. Maybe if Steam really adopt Bitcoin as payment method that could change a bit.

Steam accepting Bitcoin as the payment, this is what I always wanted to happen. I believe, it will increase the number of game purchases every day. Because buying things with Bitcoin is very easy, compared with any other methods. This will also support the purchase of the original game, because buying a game just got easier. People won't think twice to buy a game on Steam with Bitcoin

What do you think of Valve accepting Bitcoin as a payment on Steam? The only scenario I could think of is that it might attaract more people to use Bitcoin. But then again if you are a regular gamer and don't know what Bitcoin is, why switch over to an unknown currency? As of getting more sales, i'm not too sure if they would really get more sales with implementing Bitcoin as a payment processor, because people on Bitcointalk and other forums are selling Steam keys for Bitcoin, I also believe that there are some markets that allow you to pay with Bitcoin for Steam keys? It would be cool to see, and it might even trigger more companies to implement Bitcoin as a payment processor? Source: http://steamfreecodes.com/bitcoin-payments-on-steam/ some gamers in my country very pleaseure to accept bitcoin and glad to hear that steam accept bitcoin as payment,i think this is will be effective, not only for sales, but bitcoin will more popular on gamer community, gamer will more easy to pay steam with bitcoin.

That will be so nice. For both sites. I think steam will becoming more popular if you can pay with Bitcoin. And Bitcoin will be more popular because you can use it on steam, so that will be really good if that is going to happen.

Well for one thing, most kids younger than 18 are not allowed to use credit cards without adults { I say most } So Bitcoin could actually fulfil a need to attract more kids into the scene, when adults transfer some bitcoins to their kids accounts and they can spend them, without the risk of them spending all the credit on their parents credit cards or getting the info hacked. The option for adults to manage this risk, could be a advantage for Bitcoin.

i think it is awesome that valve decided to start accepting bitcoin as payment.
a lot of bitcoin users (including me) are playing games on steam which we pay for sometimes with many ways, and from now on we will abandon those ways and use bitcoin instead.

I think more than 4% of the population is aware of Bitcoin. Now if they want to use it for payments is a whole different story. For example I do know what gold and stocks are. Do I want to buy and use them? No I don't. There is no guarantee that Bitcoin will be used more if Valve add it to the Steam store. But it will spread more awareness within the gaming community.
This was exactly what i meant, I think that most people know about Bitcoin as some sort of payment processor. I mean it's been on the news and gained lots of popularity in recent years. But the question is, would people actually use it more if it were implemented in steam? The way I see it is that Valve want Bitcoin users to purchase directly from steam, instead of other markets like g2a and kinguin.

I think this would open a whole new door for the bitcoin community but also for steam because of the point that they will attract a lot of people because of this. I also think they should do it because then they are stepping in as a big company into the bitcoin market, at that is a plus point for the whole bitcoin community and the economy of it and its also good for us all. Although there are already a couple that buy steam games in trade of bitcoins but it would be much better if steam would do this directly because they can make profit and we as the users of steam will be buy it directly from them and that makes it more secure and easier for us( no fees).

It would be another spike in Bitcoin popularity. And it would be awesome if they offered a small discount for Bitcoin payments.

I think now everything is different dude. steam already accepted a payment method with bitcoin. and I think gamers will begin to see bitcoin and find out what is bitcoin? steam still some time ago accept bitcoin. so I think they more timeto bitcoin could be the payment method most widely used in steam
