I know that people give out loans but what's up with people no returning what they borrowed?? I want to know this because I might give out loans myself and I want to know what to watch out for... I have ~800 BTC at the moment and would it be a bad idea to start loaning? I bought my BTC back in 2010 mid August January(when it was about $0.07 per BTC) and I noticed the price went up a ton! Also what would be some other way to grow my BTC? Any ideas on what I should do?
Lol I don't believe a word you say about your bitcoin holdings, no offense.  And what's up with people not returning what they borrow?  Hello, are you new to the world?  It's greed and dishonesty.  I assume you're probably not new to this forum either.
Yeah, me neither. I really doubt that he has 800 Bitcoin. He wouldn't be asking us that question, he would have a consultant or something.

If he really has 800BTC, I'm sure it didn't come out of nowhere, neither he bought 800BTC. He might have done some business or whatever and should already knows how to use it and what to do with it if it is true.

He wouldn't be here asking for random opinions or advices when he could hire a advisor for himself.

Yes i agree with you. Better do business in real life than online if you have 800 bitcoins and if he loaning his 800 bitcoins, that is very2 risky way to do.

more and more ways that are not too risky. such as using escrow services and any loan using collateral. and it will keep you out of risk.

agreed,i have no bad experience during loan bitcoin,as long i have trusted lender and also we trust each other, and will be safer if use good escrow here, its why we need better effort to active and have good trust on forum for being welcomed when we need a loan.

Something I should have added my friend was doing something you guys call "mining" I am very knew to the bitcoin world even though I have had them for a long time. I bought these bitcoin from him because he needed to sell them, my financial advisor has told me that the longer I wait the more return I would get so I told him hold the account for 5 years and ill see where I am... So last July I had gotten my account back, did a bunch of research then found you guys. So I came here to post a few posts and for everyone skeptical this is the proof https://gyazo.com/ee99cef712e9b72f03a3e8e870c33624

Signed message or it didn't happen. I'm sure you didn't keep all your BTC in a single address so please show any address with ~100BTC that you own. Then we can get into what you should do to invest them.

Yeah better give us other proofs that you are really holding 800 btc else you are just telling a lie. We will for your signed message
that tells that you are holding 800 btc.

It depends on how much you are going to loan ass well and if you are able to pay it back. You should only take a loan if you have to buy something that you really need and if you are able to pay it back.

It's funny how you claim to have over 700 bitcoins while the address in your personal text has only received 0.03 total in bitcoins. I doubt you actually have that much bitcoins. You know, it's easy for everyone to go inspect element or photoshop.

But if you did have that much: do not loan it out. There are so many bitcoin hungry people out there that are willing to sacrifice their hard earned reputation for some bitcoins. Especially with this much at stake, it is simply not worth it.

As to why people not paying them back... You can figure that out yourself, lol. People have been defaulting on loans since when loans are first invented. It's a part of the risks you have to cope with while giving out loans.

Just keep in your mind that borrow what you afford to pay. Because once you have a debt your trust will be negative to the person
that let you borrowed his money and take is not just as easy as you are going to borrow the money, but you are also borrowing their trust.

The problem is borrowers think they can afford to pay their loan after a deal or a transaction or maybe after they gamble. I don't mind lending to someone with good reputation and active in trades in this site but for those borrowing for gambling is a big NO.

I have experience that feeling that borrowing fiat to my friend and with a big amount here in my country. I thought I'm able to pay that easily
but I'm wrong since the time I borrowed the money I'm always having problem and another problem comes up and needs to be paid also by money.
So, the money that was for the payment of my borrowed money wasn't able to paid. But luckily I have fully paid it for almost 2 months.

Any ideas on what I should do?

it is to risky if you just want to get payed with the coin it can never be the same wo how would you ever know what they are paying you. Thats why the question does banks disappear is irrelevant becasue the bitcoin will never take that over how could you pay the rent with coins instead of gold.

Well assuming what you just said, is true, of course giving out loans is risky. It's like you gamble with your money in order to get 1 or 2% on top of it either in short or long terms and with the tendency of losing your money in case the guy who got the loan, doesn't return it. You could by some mining equipment's and contribute to the network as well and see the long term profit if you could manage and balance everything well.
It is true that loans are pretty risky to take because you have to keep in mind that you have to pay it back. If you are sure that you are able to pay it back and thought of everything then you should be fine.

He's talking about giving out loans, not taking out a loan himself.

Probably said here before but I would not loan anything without decent collateral. There might be some instances where I would, but only for tiny amounts for trusted members.

Taking a loan is something that you should only do if you really need and know that you can 100% pay it back. Do not go out and loan Bitcoins when you are going to gamble with them.
If you lose then then you have to pay the loan back while you have no money.

Those loan defaulters didn't really care about the collateral they are offering right from the start. Some even use the term "collaterals" in order to sell something.

Don't know why some people are actually believing OP. Inspect element is one key away! If he had that much bitcoins, pretty sure he earned it somewhere and he should be aware that the internet is full of scammers. Why can't he even think of a reason why people are defaulting loans every time. Everyone and every transaction are anonymous when it comes to bitcoins, you can't trace the person who defaulted his loan. Cheesy

recently my friends lent money to someone, and upon return, the money is refunded to my friend does not correspond to the amount agreed, I think my friend here truly disadvantaged. I think this is a bad impact on loans

If you already had 800 BTC, I suggest you stay out of this loaning thing cause you can lose it. I suggest that you do some trading, get 1 BTC out of it, buy altcoins, then sell when it gets high just do some research first before buying.

And yeah, if you already had 800 btc you don't have to lend it to the people because it is very risky even you have a lot of it, 1 btc is only nothing for you. But if you are that conscious with your money. Better to hold it, just like the bitcoin millionaires do, they are just holding it and not getting into loaning service.

Well up to a person if it's still going to make a loan.

There are loans that can be sorted out to different people if you like to do so e.g "I know you for a long time" , "I know you can pay" or something like that. If that's is the case then a person can give outs loan.
