That is a mistake you make, almost any BTC loan will not be returned if the borrower does not have adequate collateral. Because Bitcoin is anonymous, you will not be able to sue or make that person pay for you, without any information about it, that will never happen. I have seen some new ICOs with mortgage lending and it is really developing
This is what makes lending in bitcoin so risky, you cannot lend without a collateral and most of the time if you look at the lending section of the forum some people want to use some icos coins as collateral that are likely to go back to zero, so most lenders only accept good coins as collateral but then that defeats the purpose for the borrower to ask a loan.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I know that people give out loans but what's up with people no returning what they borrowed?? I want to know this because I might give out loans myself and I want to know what to watch out for... I have ~800 BTC at the moment and would it be a bad idea to start loaning? I bought my BTC back in 2010 mid August January(when it was about $0.07 per BTC) and I noticed the price went up a ton! Also what would be some other way to grow my BTC? Any ideas on what I should do?

Something I should have added my friend was doing something you guys call "mining" I am very knew to the bitcoin world even though I have had them for a long time. I bought these bitcoin from him because he needed to sell them, my financial advisor has told me that the longer I wait the more return I would get so I told him hold the account for 5 years and ill see where I am... So last July I had gotten my account back, did a bunch of research then found you guys. So I came here to post a few posts and for everyone skeptical this is the proof https://gyazo.com/ee99cef712e9b72f03a3e8e870c33624

Maaan, trolling is prohibited in that forum  Smiley Smiley Your financial advisor suggest you to make a purchase of 56 bucks and buy bitcoins in 2010? Good joke)
And where have you been in 2013 when btc hit $1000+? "Oh, I'm almost mollionaire, but let it go through.."

Nevertheless, if somehow this story is not fake, my congratulations to you)) Dont do lending business, it is so risky as everybody have already told you on previous pages))

on the one hand it is dangerous, because you are driving yourself into a debt hole...on the other hand, you can realize your dreams here and now...depending on who has what priority

Life in itself comes with risks and the choices we make and it's accompanying risk will determine where we'd be tomorrow. I think if you plan to profit from giving loans then you should be ready to deal with bad debts and late payments.

Loans are risky if there is no smart contract available, so if you want to help people take all the measures necessary with the help of a smart contract.

The risk factor associated with loans are what needs to be dealt with before anything else, talking about smart contracts i think they are laudable but is everyone aware of that? Most of the people i know are only used to the conventional loan setting where you take  a loan  for an interest and loaning bitcoin online or anywhere could be even more challenging than what we do in our respective countries.

Well many of the guys in the lending section are red flagged because of the poor reputation in terms of unserviced loans they have taken or stolen from people. Its way too risky to start a loan business if you don't have a way of collecting or settling the disputes that may arise.

Yeah and i wonder why there still are people making that huge risk. I don't think there's any collateral that can come up to what you're going to lose if you're scammed or not paid.

Loans risky because even on a collateral of an fair account hold you canot sell it properly if the loaner failed to comply for a week or so. Some transactions are also risky if you dont have enough knwoledge about it and selling an account is also risky to begin with.

Loans always are the most risky way but with collateral will reduces the percents of risky. Loans are very profitable too that's why they are doing it even with the big risky.

It isn't good way to earn money, load need big capital that will be more useful for day trading. Maybe loan will give nice profit in long term but its also make us miss many chance to grow the money in investemnt like trading.

Lending is for those people actually don't have a plan on spending their funds, idle funds are bad for a person holding large cash because it losses the potential to earn money.
Lending is good but of course risks are always there and yes collateral could compensate for that or guarantor Smiley

But why they're choosing lending as their main way on earning profits ? I saw many people choosing lending is a main job . That's really ankward.

When a person who are badly in need of money they would take a risk to apply for loan in order to address their needs. It is right that it is too risky to take. We do see how it goes, the process is very hard to deal with. It is something that we dont want but then the last option we take if we are left with no choice. The percentage rate annually or monthly is too high sometimes since different debtor has different rates but then they are the same adding a certain amouny of money to principal amount a person has borrowed.we consider bitcoin as a blessing since its purpose is for us to earn bigger without paying it back in return and without interest rate added. Bitcoin surely addressed all financially ill people and they would not need to take a risk for loan.

When you loan out you need liquidity and when you just rely on the collateral but people are not willing to pay then you will have a problem.
Do a micro loan online because that way you can manage the risk and minimize it, volume of borrowers are more important and just give a small amount.

Your only job is to prevent or lower the risk involved or else youll be scammed thats a common sense to everyone. Why would it be risky if you both  have the agreements or the terms on your loans or lends. And of course you have to picky by it just pick the reputable ones and dont be fooled by full members below.
It's not by rank actually, even if you both have an agreement prior to the transaction, the risk is still on the lender since
there is not precious collateral that would force a borrower to pay his debt.
We are only doing our business based on trust, so if we trust a member we lend money to him/her but there is no assurance that the loan will be repaid.
This is why lending with bitcoin in the forum seems like such a bad business, those that really need the loan will have no collateral to give and even if they are honest people with the amount of scams going on the forum then it is a bad idea to give a loan to anyone.

Yes, because we couldn't pay loans in just a time making more interest on loans are almost risky. We can't comply our family's needs because some of our salary are be going in taxes. It is sad to say that btc are very helpful in terms of finances. But still I didn't get any sort of amount to this.

Yes its true there is no doubt that loan is too risky for everyone I think if you want to get loan from any bank so first of all you must have a good source of income because if you don’t have a source of income or you left your job then I think you can be in a trouble so I think we need to avoid loan because its very hard to return as well so I believe that once if you join bitcoin so you can earn too much from bitcoin and you will not need to get any loan.
