Not that I'm impatient, just wondering, since I'm new to this whole BTC thing:
How long does it normally take for free Bitcoins (or fractions thereof) to show up in one's wallet?
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Depends on the service. I've found CoinTube, EarnFreeBitCoins, and BitVisitor to be very quick (usually within ten minutes of viewing the pages or videos). Other sites lump payments together to avoid transaction fees, so they can take a while longer.
