The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

So,  why wouldn't PayPal just hop on the bitcoin bandwagon now, when it can still look like it's PayPal's idea?

Given it's paypal, I'd guess something like "We will now charge you $599 for speedy expedition to reduce the frozen time from 180 days to just 90 days!"

We will now begin charging a $666.00 convenience fee to all accounts holding less than, or more than $100.
