You label anyone that calls you on your lies an idiot and/or a troll. You really need some new material Josh.

Thanks for illustrating my point.  Also, I apologize that I forgot to include you in the list of completely useless posters on this forum.  BTW - how is that bASIC hashing for you?  They shipped last week, right?

Hmm would it not be maybe an idea to see any bASIC disapointed\letdown\ripped off customers as an opportunity to get a some new business

WOW....OMG...how insightful this idea of seeing people as potential customers instead of insulting them and organising street drives by's hits with SKYE-G  your
GhETO princess

Since BFL does not actually have a product to sell, any and all BFL-related threads should be moved to a more appropriate forum:

Off-topic

or maybe:

Gambling

+1 THIS THIS THIS

I see your +1 and raise it ++2

Page 3 of a discussion on split threads with virtually nil about BFL.

May I suggestion the following. Since the other thread is the main BFL thread, allow Josh the latitude to use the report-to-moderator option to request deletion of any post that's off-topic, provided he does it without being bias, nor adds to the trollish dialog. Other respected members, of course, will do the same.

For those of us (sometimes me included) who join in on the drama, have a dedicated thread entitled BFL Drama. That would work also as: Avalon Drama; bASIC Drama; GLBSE Drams (archaic); Bitcoinica Drama (archaic); Mt Gox Drama; etc. Just an idea.

Now that I've thunk it, have a dedicated Drama Board/Section. Any post that doesn't fit, gets moved to the drama section. Period!

Now only if we could get them to quit advertising all over the place.  Grin

Do you have any idea how much that crop circle cost us?

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

10 threads on the same topic cluttering up the front page is hardly an improvement.

I'm asking because this starts to look like a copy of the old thread.

OFFICIAL BFL RELATED POST

Realistically after all the bile that has been heaped upon AVALON from their PR Guru

AVALON have delivered (final confirmation in 3..2..1)

It is expected that the tolerance for the PR Gurus modus operandi is @ an all time low..

As with AVALON all that anybody wants to see or hear about BFL (apart from the fanboys...you seem to have a penchant for fans yourself or am i reading it wrong) is delivery of the units that people have paid money for

The PR Genius has created this bed of a large group of people who after many an insult cant stand his style of PR any more

BFL its time (PUT UP or BE QUIET until they do)  ...this should be the end of the thread until this happens IMHO

Did they stop selling their FPGAs?

Anyway, onto relevant actual thread discussion...
I don't think it should be moderated. BFL has their own forum they can moderate. If I want to learn more about BFL and their products, I can visit their website. If I want opinions, I can come to here. As much as I hate the asinine trolling garbage, it is BFL's own fault for failing to deliver. From what I remember, the majority of the trolling started after BFL didn't meet their deadline, and word got out about the CEO guy awhile back. For a widely libertarian message board with most of it's inhabitants likely never leaving the house much, it's only natural for us to get jumpy and question things. If BFL wants the trolling to stop, they should work on delivering their product. If they are worried about loosing potential future customers due to them not finding relevant threads, they shouldn't. Assuming they shipped at the end of October, they would have started getting more customers afterward. They'll still get more customers when they ship in the future, but they shouldn't be handicapped with the assistance of the internet police. And imagine the potential for troll food when they start claiming that bitcointalk is being paid by BFL to peddle their business. What if someone else down the road wants this same kind of service for their product in the future?

I don't know... I don't really have a coherent thesis, but I think it's a bad idea. I kind of don't care as well. And I don't speak against BFL. I just think it'll create a grey area, and more people are going to find something to bitch about.

It would be more efficient to just rename that entire section to Vaporware.

This. Absolutely this. I check the ASIC threads from time to time, but I can only do so much. Yet, I've still deleted hundreds of posts despite being limited to the global moderation rules. You guys don't even have that limitation since theymos has given the Mining board moderators autonomy! So, you need to either more actively moderate this board or you need to ask theymos for more moderators to be appointed. Anything else is just going to make things worse.

I've deleted many of posts too.  Many of them very quickly so perhaps they haven't been noticed— crap like bazarro porn mashups with pictures of the family members of asic people.  Some of that is now moved off the forum.  ... some people here should be ashamed of themselves.

You can start telling me what I _need_ to do when I get the authority to ban people and when the overall forum adopts a policy which is less all-is-fair. Until then, it's going to be horrible... and when I see a particularly bad example that I can fix easily I'll continue to do so.
And I'm glad that you do as much as you do. More and more, though, it's looking like there just isn't enough of you. I honestly think that there just aren't enough moderators here. Seriously, ask theymos to appoint some more people.

Also, you have the authority to warn people not to do things. I've found that to be very effective. If someone continues being clearly off-topic and/or trolling, feel free to put in a ban request.

Theymos said he will not ban people for trolling, so a warning is completely meaningless.

Theymos wasn't the one who created this thread.
