Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon

the new version of cgminer didnt help with my pi for cgminer. I'm running the old pi if that makes a difference. I am going to buy the new one today and see if that makes a difference.

I am not sure what you are saying.

I have has a few reports that the new MinePeon is working with the Block Eruptor USB's though, grab it here;-

This is the best of the screen shots I have so far;-



As you can see that is two Block Eruptors (AMU) hashing happily away with a Jalapeno (BAJ) all through a hub.

I wonder what is different about your rig.

I'm not using a hub. It's odd that bfgminer works though.

Of course    It just sits there with those errors.

Anyone have success using a similar device with more processing power than the Raspberry pi?
ODroid or others.  This should work right?

Bit of a price jump from a R-pi...  

Im still leaning towards the beaglebone black as my next potential miner host platform.  doesnt hurt the wallet too bad @ ~$45
... also leaning towards it since I already have one and havent put it to use yet  

Would be amusing to see a block erupter cape on it

Both the ODroid and the Beaglebone Black could be supported but what would the advantage be?

I am not saying that I would not do it (send me one and I probably would) but supporting additional platforms just because they exist seems a lot of work to me :p .

dont really have any proper testing to back up my anecdotal observations, but I havent had any hangs on the bbblack, which I cant claim the same for the Rpi (I do have a R1 tho, cant speak to the R2)
Less usb and eth issues with the bbblack personally.  again, opinionated observation would lead me to the whole phy eth chip on bbblack vs usb based eth on rpi.
1ghz vs 700mhz cpu, while not frequently an issue, could be if more stuff is added to the webui, demanding more processing for display.
Memory's the same between a bbblack and R2 rpi. 
The onboard eMMC is useful, being that you can install the os to it and then be able to make use of the sd slot.
rpi powered by usb connection.  bbb has barrel jack or usb powered.
rpi has 2 usb ports, bbb just one, so if youre not using a hub, this could be an issue.

the novelty of block erupters stacked on it as capes would be fun, but still, just a novelty.

all in all, no 'direct' benefit of a port, imo.  would just be a potential interesting alternative that's still in the cheap little system board category.

definitely keeping the donation idea in the back of my head    *keeps an eye on current coins earned from my running minepeon setup*

Yep, that looks like the one. Please note that I modified it (removed the power passthrough diodes and then connected it to a more powerful PSU) to handle the higher current draw.

Agreed that hardware watchdog reboot is very cool.  I would love to do that for my one problematic GPU rig as well.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: MinePeon-2013-06-10.zip

There is a potential problem that can cause the miner to crash and not restart, it has to do with how resources are monitored and maintained (especially with a lot of USB devices).  While no one has actually reported the problem it still exists and I thought it better to be onto it before anyone does.

but so far best source of consolidated bfl shipping data. the mix in numbering styles is intentional. they used 3 concurent preorder systems in the early days afaik.
