Installed the latest from Sourceforge - v.0.2.1 - but when it boots, OpenSSH Daemon fails to start - any tips on why?
i need to find a keyboard to plug in and see systemctl status sshd.service - but i dont have one handy..

Odd, first off try re-imageing it and see if that works, by preferance use the one here http://minepeon.com/update/latest.php .  That is always the latest version and I have been having problems with sourceforge and corrupt files.

A n00b question over here:
Is there any way to look at cgminer status? Like when running it on other OSes.

'sudo screen -r' will bring up the miner window for ya.

Those error rates do appear a bit high, you have to take into account how ZTEX's work though, they just keep increasing the clock rate until it receives too many errors and then backs off on the clock a bit, after awhile it will start to increase the clock again (till it has more errors).

If you grab the latest version (http://minepeon.com/update/latest.php) there is a lot more data on that page that will help diagnosing the problem (if there is one, the utility seems OK).

for some reason(e.g Router down and then restar,or unplug cable) ,then the MinePeon auto Connect.

I tested My Pi,when unplug cable and then plug cable, MinePeon does not auto connect,Must Restar(Power down then Power On).

Neil, what features have costs associated with them and how much do they cost?

My mining setup is small, and will probably remain that way, but I REALLY want to support you.  What do you think about putting up a list a features that have costs (+ some more for your time) and then adding in a bitcoin address for each?  That way you get the funding you need, AND you can tell which feature is most requested by people that actually matter (people that will pay you).

I was trying to figure out this hidden Easter egg you guys were talking about... My mining setup is small, and will probably remain that way, but I REALLY want to support you.  What do you think about putting up a list a features that have costs (+ some more for your time) and then adding in a bitcoin address for each?  That way you get the funding you need, AND you can tell which feature is most requested by people that actually matter (people that will pay you).

Thanks for answering. I thought about the second raspi because the datacentre will be far away. So the only contact to the miners would be through the raspi. I already have read that a raspi is restarting itself when it stucks. But it might be useful to be able to administrate the miners when something other happens to the raspi.

That is pretty damn cool. It got me thinking too! I could easily set something like this up with my arduino   Right now I have my arduino sitting around collecting dust until Christmas time, when I use it to control 6 3-prong outlets for a Christmas light show. Would be easy enough to use it to remotely turn power on/off to my RPi.

Power arduino by my other computer sitting next to RPi, and if RPi ever turns off or freezes, remote into other computer, send command to turn relay off and back on. There is probably some way to code it to a web server too, I just don't have a clue. (Edit: check this out! http://www.hobbyist.co.nz/?q=web-switch-tutorial)

Yeah, it's a pretty cool unit. You just need a direct IP or some firewall to port forward to a specific port. The management port is configurable too. There are also scripting options and auto-ping with power cycle... Example, can't reach a specific IP? It will power cycle a specific power plug for X number of times with X delay. I have had zero issues with it and have used it many times via my mobile phone while out of town etc.

I copied the new image (new Minepeon for testing) to another sd card and got it running but can't log in using SSH (I can via the GUI and so put in my pool settings and it's working). I'm sure this isn't a big problem but can someone help with this message? (Note - I don't have a monitor, can only log in using SSH. I do still have my other image on another card though - of the older Minepeon).

Thanks Brokk. Funny, I hadn't used VI in around 12 years or so, but I was able to remember the editing commands and remove that line from the file.
(Mac e.g vi known_hosts, dd (deletes line in question), :wq (save and exit))  - Done!

I hope this helps someone else as it seems every time we reinstall another image on the Raspberry Pi, we might have this happen.

Anyway, here are the responces (in no particular order).

That is a problem!  I have tested my rigs but they connect again correctly so it is probably something to do with your setup. 

It is serious though so I will see if I can add something to make sure the interface is up.

There is a lot that I could do if I had the cash, SMS alerts, Android & IOS Apps with push notifications, VPN Tunneling, Remote Access.... the list goes on.

With everyone donating there little bit though I am hoping I can do it all without anyone having to 'pay' for anything (especially me ), we will just have to see how it works out.

The base is Arch Linux and it is run in data centers all over the world so you should be good. (may want to wait for live update though)

Do pick STRONG passwords, you would not want someone to login via the WebUI and steal your hashes.

As soon as I can make live updating work correctly you wont ever have to do it again though (just bricked my Test Peon with live update, so not ready yet).

My 2 USB Block Erupters with heatsinks protecting the ASIC chip:

How do the AMU's perform with the heatsinks on boss.

This my bad boy.
Without the heatsink it starts with 20% HW errors about 24 later drops to about 17%.
With the heatsink it starts with 20% HW errors about 24 later drops to about 15%.
No other cooling is used except the front and back heatsing.
I will try to get a fan blowing directly at it from the side to see if I get better results.

P.S. My other erupters get only about 2% HW errors. I use diff 2 shares and I calculate the error rate by HW/A from the numbers I get from cgminer.
