One factor is what the media would show. Some politicians would tend to tell other side of an event to give more positive view on whatever they did. Voters on the other hand would want to hear something that can benefit them in the easiest ways. Some voters would go in to the detail on the background and attitudes of a person towards an event.

Well, what's for sure is that if you go in the detail he's a liar! Problem being that lying isn't so much important. 100% of politicians lie that's not the problem. The problem is that we see people keeping yelling "He's speaking his mind" "He's not lying to the people" Well yes he is! He is exactly like each and other politician! He has nothing different! He lies even more than the others!

It's because of smug, arrogant people like you who attacked absolutely everybody else over their beliefs and try to claim your favourite candidate is morally superior and you should all worship him that people are voting in the likes of Trump and Sanders, it's specifically designed to piss you off and the great thing is, it's working and it's hilarious watching you all go into a meltdown over it.
By the way, if we compare Trump and Sanders to somebody like Clinton, even Sanders is far more genuine and honest than she'll ever be.

Exactly what he said. I am no Trump supporter by any means, but you can't call Trump out when Hillary has been lying and deceiving her way throughout her entire political career.

Oh ok. Thanks for your explanation. I understand better. BTW I'm not even American, I don't claim anyone is "morally superior" I just genuinely didn't understand. So in fact you don't vote for Trump, you vote against the whole political system that makes you sick. Makes more sense I guess. But it really reminds me of the Stephan King book "Deadzone" ^^

It seems your only interest is the American's way of life. Your thread title is a universal truth for some people. When you have a center of gravity, genuine people here will understand you better, from your perspective. For some here their 'center of gravity' is russia, others, ukraine, others their religion, their atheism, etc, etc... Just hating America, while being in love with the American author stephen king is fine but, hating America from your perspective of what life should be, based on what your ideal is, is better.

Here is why people vote for a liar. In America, television is king. People come home from work or school and sit down and watch TV. They watch while they eat dinner. They watch when they go to bed, and they fall asleep listening to TV. Some people even watch TV at work. Now, tell me. How much of TV is the truth? The weatherman lies all the time about the weather. All the movies, and many of the documentaries are simply acting - no or little truth. People narrating documentaries often lie about what is being shown. The evening or morning news is packed full of lies. In fact, only a tiny bit of truth is ever found on TV. Television is the American past time. There isn't much of anything else to do in the big cities where millions of Americans live. So, Americans watch TV, and learn to love lies.Since Americans love lies from watching TV, who are they going to vote for? Aren't they going to vote for the person who does the thing that they love the most? Aren't they going to vote for the person who tells the biggest and most lies? Do you want to win in politics? Forget solving hunger in America. Forget fighting for the cure for cancer. Forget curing the financial woes of America. Forget about the Middle East. What should you do to win? Lie, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie. And then lie some more. The American people will love you, and if you don't win, you will come close.

I pay almost no attention to what almost anyone 'says', and that is extra true in modern politics. To the extent I do, I try to figure out why they are saying it more than what they are saying as an indication of their overall positioning.
Trump, like Warren, seems to understand the type of people they are dealing with in the financial sector. I'm inclined to take a chance on Trump and cross fingers that he will deal with them on our behalf. It's a long-shot, but stranger things have happened. If he chooses to attempt an attack, 'knowing the enemy' is critical. What Clinton seems to know about this sector is that it is an easy place to pick up a quarter million bucks for a few hours of work (including driving time.)
The Democratic machine is well oiled enough that it's a waste of time to worry about Sanders. If I did need to, however, I worry significantly that he is milking the global climate change fraud to the max, and the pinko side of it. Which is to say, employing it in it's transfer of wealth from 'rich' to the poor formation (where 'rich' means the middle class since the 1% can easily skate and in fact use it to their advantage to get into the 0.01%.) He is either to dumb to realize that it is a scam, or knows it and welcomes it in which case he is nothing but a scammer. In this case, assuming he is 'honest', a scammer of the 'warmista' type.

People do not wish to vote for the liar, its just that they get carried away by this person's promise during campaign that his promises are worth convincing for the crowd to believe. This is the main problem that countries are facing right now. People should be educated to research for the person's profile and history to be sure of his promise. Make even survey is a good way of knowing the person.

Well, in my opinion, all politicians are liars. Let's face reality. Every politician have simple goal, to win election. In order to do this, he/she have to inspire people to vote for him. you can't inspire people with cruel reality and truth so you lie. After elections you try to do something, with more or less success. When new elections comes you are accusing others for failures and praise yourself for successes.

Liberals are ugly righty pricks Funny really how what you call "lefties" are representing the right wing of our political horizon in France ^^ "Special Envoy" on France 2, plunged the viewer at the heart of the Cahuzac scandal; visited the office of the Minister for the Budget. Jérôme Cahuzac proudly present two posters of "Scrooge".French government ministers have revealed details of their personal wealth as part of efforts by Francois Hollande to regain public trust. The statistics were posted on a specially created website on Monday, on the orders of Mr Hollande. The move followed the scandal surrounding former Budget Minister Jerome Cahuzac, who is charged with tax fraud over a secret bank account. Mr Hollande's popularity ratings have plummeted in the wake of the scandal. Each of France's 37 ministers is required to publish details of their personal finances. The list of assets includes details of bank accounts, life assurance policies, property and other expensive items such as cars, art works and antiques. The BBC's Hugh Schofield in Paris says the exercise is designed to be eye-catching, and dispel some of the public disenchantment with politics that has developed in recent weeks. Jerome Cahuzac caused shock earlier this month when he admitted he had hidden about 600,000 euros (£509,000; $770,000) in a Swiss bank account, having repeatedly denied it. He resigned from his government position and is now being investigated for tax fraud. For politicians of both left and right, the obligation to declare their wealth fosters a presumption of collective guilt which is entirely unjust. Mr Cahuzac, they say, should be seen as what he is: a grotesque exception. And others argue that the president has simply missed the point. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-22147406----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now... Do you understand why your position is hilarious and why you are a liberal, by US definition, not france's? We do not care how you call yourself. As long as you believe your ex minister has more rights than you. It must be! How come he hasn't been in jail yet? The BBC article is dated 15 April 2013. French Corruption from the Corrupted French Socialists. They know they have enough useful idiots** like you to keep them out of jail forever... But do tell us why France never vote for the liars, young engineer... I invite everyone to use google search the way I did and seek juicy french corruptions for this lesson giver. **Useful idiots: http://defeatcommunism.com/profiles/blogs/5467818:BlogPost:61704

All people are liars, at least a little bit. If you are going to vote, you will be voting for a liar. No other way to do it. Since all politicians and candidates are liars, why not recognize who the best liar is? It's simple. Give the people the lies that turn them on the most, and they will vote for you. People are sick of the Council on Foreign Relations liars. These liars haven't been giving the people anything that they think they want, for decades now. Up with Trump, the liar who tells the people the things that their hearts lie to them that they want.

Who? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnpO_RTSNmQA limey socialist comedian does a show on trump and suddenly thousands of brain dead people are acting like they are experts on him. BTW, did anyone ever stop to think that Tump's ANCESTORS changed their family name, not Donald? How exactly does this reflect on his personal integrity? Here is a hint: it doesn't.

Liability? He does not have liability? So you mean he can't lie. But he's not honest? Are you an idiot?

Looking through a number of those, I don't think they are realistic assessments of "true or false." Not in the least. You don't approve the way they check the facts?
I'm not perfectly aware of American politics and news so I'm probably less well informed. But I relaly like how it's done. They're rather harsh on notation that's for sure! Another typical, logical perspective from a well informed liberal... I just said I'm not well informed in the general American political life. I don't understand what you mean here.

Now... Do you understand why your position is hilarious and why you are a liberal, by US definition, not france's? We do not care how you call yourself. As long as you believe your ex minister has more rights than you. It must be! How come he hasn't been in jail yet? The BBC article is dated 15 April 2013.
Not unusual at all. European justice is long. And it's the case everywhere. Only 3 years ago man, 3 years for national cases is nothing. I don't see your point here. French Corruption from the Corrupted French Socialists. They know they have enough useful idiots** like you to keep them out of jail forever...
But do tell us why France never vote for the liars, young engineer...
Stop right there!Where did I say anything like this? I was talking about American presidence run. The fact that people seem to actually love Trump and I was wondering why. I NEVER said French politic was different. The only different is that we don't like them, we vote for the one we think is the less horrible that's all. I invite everyone to use google search the way I did and seek juicy french corruptions for this lesson giver.
It was an honest question, I wanted to know why Trump is loved so much. Galdur answered. End of the debate. Never gave you lessons about politics here.

I do not see any cult of enthusiam around Trump. I see people leaning toward voting for him for practical reasons. For example, Republican voters have not seen Congress or the Senate effectively working against any of Obama's proposals or legislation, even though they promised they would. That makes no sense. So leaning against the "establishment," they lean toward Trump.

Whops! Be careful with that torch. We don't want to burn all those people for being not so polite. I wouldnt vote for giving any excuse to such reasons which persons like Trump could use for their behavior. Politicians are not the fires of hell, which hasty people like Lethn are trying to ignite, because they forgot to close the door to the church, when they were leaving. They literally carry the bible and the apocalypse around with them. Trump is a politician, and obviously emphasising the wrong attitude. But thats the trick. As it is this obvious, Trump and his supporters are able to argue from a good position, looking down on others, trying to tease them, make them stickle, hurt them, without bearing any responsibility. <<Hey, cant you take anymore??>> A senseful controversy or dispute has never been done, and isnt possible that way. Now think about the white house. Is it a madhouse or the residence of the potus? Trump is utilizing the same sloppy way americans did deal with recent politics and the results. They just never took them seriously. If they are going to reach the white house with this nonsense, this would be a huge surprise.

Hmm. I did not know he was pyromaniac, just a bitcoin lover. I like his new black and yellow avatar way better than the old one I have to say... TRUMP is not a politician. That is why his gravitational pulling is so amazingly powerful. I was gonna say "his tractor beam is yuuuge!", but I don't want to offend anyone.... So far, the so called political press has been wrong about TRUMP 100%. We shall see.

That was the center of my question. And that's what I understood from Galdur. I had the impression that people really loved and trusted him and I didn't understand that. "loved and trusted?" I see him as a businessman, looking and talking and acting like one. That's completely a different point of view than the perspective of a politician trying to get votes. Trump will get a huge turn out to vote for him because of this. Therefore, he is the best candidate for the Republican party. Curiously, the Republican party "establishment" doesn't have a clue about this, and are still trying to engineer a means to a different candidate - one that the voters would not turn out for, who would easily be beaten by the democratic machine. So the typical mudslinging and smearing, including such as this thread calling Trump a liar, simply will not work with these dynamics in play.

I stopped voting, just because of this reasons.
All politicians are liars, They all just shout some things they will do. Just so they reach a fanbase of people who think yes he/she will fix everything.
Just so that the politician comes in place and he will continue the plans of the real people in control, Politicians are just pawns and they are being used for personal agenda's.
Also the current voting system is corrupt, how do we know that there is really no corruption with the votes as well. I think we should get a real honest voting system with Ethereum!

I don't understand what you mean or the link between all those things you say, this whole speech lacks sense. How I feel about your country doesn't change the fact that I wanted to know why Trump was loved! And... Envy? Envy what exactly? I don't know what I could like in the US, though I'd like to visit for sure! Wonderful nature, country is so big it must be awesome to make a huge road trip!

I hate to support someone like Trump (mainly because I think the chemical product he uses in his hair has made him insane). I just don't see any other choices. Every time I hear Bernie Sanders speak all I can think of is, Who is John Galt? Hitlery Cunton is clearly just an outright unqualified flounder. So who's left to vote for?

Yeah seems like a good reason. From what I saw, most people are Trumpers by default, because they don't have other choices, it's ok I mean I can't argue with that, politicians are all horrible liars that will fuck you from behind. What I can't understand are the people like Wilikon who simply seems in love with Trump xD

What I can't understand are the people like Wilikon who simply seems in love with Trump xD Maybe they use the same hair product. lol Know What’s In Your Hair Products Mr. Trump. rofl
hair products Every day many of us use personal care products that contain potentially harmful ingredients. Think about how many personal care products you use in a single day, a year and over your lifetime. Small amounts of toxic chemicals add up and can accumulate in our bodies.
Of the 10,500 chemical ingredients used in the personal care products, just 11% have been assessed for health and safety. Hundreds of chemicals – some safe and some known to be hazardous – are present in our personal care products. Because countless new compounds are developed each year, it’s hard for consumers to know about them all.

Hitlery Cunton? By all means, this is the reason why we need this woman. But you should really try to find a better approach in describing this person, who served her country for many years. I didnt know you already did excel that, or why did you belittle her? are you insane?

All politicians are liars IMO, to an extent of course. But we should go and vote for some of them because we don't want to live in chaos. So the question is not who is telling the truth and who is a liar, but who of them lies less.

This is called is fatalism. You should try Friedrich Nietzsches writings. Or try to do something spontaneous. Just be free, if thats possible.

Europe was too weak after the war to face a new enemy by itself: the USSR. A massive American reconstruction program of buildings, economies and minds took place, while europe was facing the real possibility of a total invasion from the soviets. I believe you forgot about this tiny, of no importance detail called "the cold war". You forgot about NATO and the reason of its existence. Your useless hate (hate is a useless waste of energy I believe) should focus on your own ignorance, thus transforming it into a new enlightenment called knowledge of historical facts 101.

In my opinion all politicians are liars. It's true in every country in the world. It's their job to lie to the people and give them false hopes and promises when reality is different. If someone will try to be honest and say truth, nobody will believe him and he will loose elections. Nobody wants to hear bad news,it's human nature. Even in difficult circumstances people search for false hopes and promises. Trump is not better or worst from other politicians. He just talk to much and accuse everybody and it seems people like this style

In America, any natural born citizen can run for President. Find something that all the people will like, and use that as your platform. I hate income taxes. Many people do. But I have found that many people on the job support income taxes, even though they don't like them. As long as income taxes are supported by the people, there will be no change. Somebody should run with the platform of abolishing the income tax and the Federal Reserve debt-money systems... just to see what would happen. Ron Paul tried it a little, but they didn't say it clearly and simply enough for the people to understand.

I agree. Politicians make promise to people just for nothing. They just give them hope but when already at the position, they just forget everything.

People always vote for those who say what they want to hear. In elections people don't vote with brains. They vote with their ears. Therefore, in policies never get honest people. It is the poor quality of democracy, but nothing better has yet been invented.

When people run for POTUS, they say what voters want to here. Facts take a backseat and we all know it. If a presidential candidate were to tell the truth, I'd probably have a heart attack.

To the reason, most citizens were captivated to politician's sweet words instead looking and searching for more their background profiles. A lot would say all politicians are liars, yes because they are also human. But all we can do when we are voting is to vote and choose the best politician according to our research to their backgrounds, who loves his/her country and citizens. And last thing we can do to trust and pray for their judgement and plans to our country, cooperate on what they will implemented.

All politicians lie, because they are puppets. People do not even imagine what the secret government is thinking about and what directions politicians give. All chances of victory have long been resolved and only people are given the opportunity to take part in elections.

One factor is what the media would show. Some politicians would tend to tell other side of an event to give more positive view on whatever they did. Voters on the other hand would want to hear something that can benefit them in the easiest ways

How do you know when a politician is lying? He opens his mouth. We have been relegated to voting for the person who lies about the least important things.

There is a contrasting question here. How do you know if he is a liar? Media nowadays just cover what's good to people's ear in terms of a politician. They cover up what these politicians did wrong. How can you tell if a person is a liar.

I believe that all politicians are liars, because they constantly deceive people before the elections and do not fulfill their communications. They are only interested in enriching their pockets. No politician can give up the pleasure of robbing himself as much money as possible, instead of improving the economy of the country.

Not everyone, but may be 70% or 80% of them are liars. There are a lot of honest politicians out there, such as Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard. And I believe that if Sanders had won the POTUS elections in 2016 (i.e after winning the democrat nomination), then the world would have become a much better place to live for everyone.

All politicians are not truthful to their followers and that is why we are facing many political problem around the world today. From my view most politicians create the problem our individual country are facing today through deception and liars. Trump is not the only deceptive politician most them are pure liars.

All Politicians lie, But Clinton and the whole clinton family are serial liars, they will see black and call it white, There is no truthfulness in the world of politics, The honest ones gets corrupted as times goes by. The one who promised change ended up becoming the very thing he sought to change, maybe he was all along and he lied his way to the oval office and started to dine with celebrities.

I agree with many that all politicians lie only to come to power. They really do not want to take care of the country or the people, they care only about themselves and their family.

It is not that I am selecting a side, but I've experienced being close to a politician and it is a common nature to most of them. Politicians especially in the start of elections, tell the people what they want to hear and what they want to see, because if they don't do that, they can't get their attention and support. But beyond their lies, they just want to help people, and they know they can do it but there must be some circumstances like lying.

Its natural for politicians to lie in the first part of their campaign, its for the purpose of gaining people's votes. What else could they do but to glitteringly state their plans for the country without certainty, most of their promises arent achieved and its really unfortunate how the people of the country hoped and believed of their promises and plans.

One way or another, all the politians are huge liars. They do not hesitate tell lies to their people for their own sake. Trumps is the most dishonest of all the current politicians for sure because he is a businessman and business people know well how to trick human beings.

I think that's what made people vote for him in the first place. The guy is crazy most of the time but inalsl din't think he's a liar. He's blatantly straightforward in saying what's on his mind whether they're constructive or not.

Isn't getting elected justification in itself? It works. Although some Americans can dectect the dishonesty, the majority are unable to. Given than Bernie was a legit candidate and Trump still got elected is a reflection of the American people. They're not ready for an honest leader yet. Preference is to have sweet nothings whispered into their ears

But who derailed his campaign? If the democrat primaries were conducted in an honest way, then he would have secured his nomination as the presidential nominee. But in many of the battleground states, the Hillary supporters rigged the polls and intimidated the Sanders supporters from voting. You can't blame Trump for all this.

Hate to post on such a large thread but the thing here is that a lot of the 'fact checking' is usually just saying that the person was just a little wrong on what they said and then they'll use the pants on fire thing, if these people weren't puppets of the DNC you'd see that Clinton would also be in the 80 percent area, maybe even 90 percent for the amount of shit that she says that is completely false. Take the senate hearing that she had to go through, she lied like a rug there and should've been hung for it-- she wasn't and no one cares about when the Clinton's do stuff that is wrong. I hated Trump, but I don't think that 80% of his speech is lie. He became a worthy President
I like Trump, and I'll agree with you on the latter.

Yeah the DNC conspiring with Clinton against Sanders was a factor as well, with no consequence other than Debbie getting a promotion lol. But again, Clinton is a pathological liar, and she still has a significant backing by the American population. Another factor is super delegates, which allows manipulation. If you read my reply, there is no mention of "blaming Trump" for anything. His job was to get elected and he accomplished that. A population that seriously lacks awareness is how you end up with Clinton vs. Trump for leadership. Both don't give half a shit about the American people. Honest people simply won't make it in this type of political environment. It's all about who can lie the best.

It's funny when you look at the studies people will believe what they want to when it comes to politics. For some reason, if you believe that grass is blue and a politician tells you lies to support that grass is indeed blue then you will listen to that. When another person challenges those beliefs and says hey - I think the grass is green actually. You will ignore them despite all science and research suggesting indeed that grass is green. Silly example only goes so far so don't take it for more than it is

Hillary enjoys strong support from certain racial and economic classes, such as the African Americans, LGBTs, radical feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims.etc. But her problem was that she couldn't attract many votes from outside these blocs, despite the fact that Trump was one of the weakest candidates the GOP ever put up in a presidential election.

In elections, you need to select the least evil candidate out there. That is the reason why Trump won, although he was not very popular with the voters. He was perceived to be more honest and less evil, when compared to Hillary.

I'm assuming that illegal immigrants don't get to vote, so their support doesn't matter. LGBT I'm not sure about either...she's been against gay marriage until like 2013 when it was no longer popular, and then made the switch like the demagogue she is. Trump was weak I agree, but Hillary was weak shit too. This was an election of choosing the lesser of 2 evils. Trump got votes from people that just hate Hillary and vice versa aside from legit supporters. Given Sanders, Clinton and Trump, there should be an overwhelming landslide for Sanders, but that's not the case. I get the elite corporate interests wouldn't want that, but they have a small % of the votes. The thing is they're able to convince the general uninformed population, who have tons of votes. Until a significant % of the population wakes up, I don't see why this would ever change.

We vote for them because when they are campaigning they possess good characteristics and attitudes. But when they win, some of them are changing their attitudes and their true identity came out. So we should vote wisely and think first if the person that we will going to vote is a trust worthy person and a responsible leader.

We are not voying for liar. We just vote the mam we think and we know that can jelp us. A person that we are looking forward that can end the problems in our society. We have no idea of what or who or who is liar from what we are voting for. We just vote because we want a leader to rule and help us all.

Actually because the moment you're voting is the moment that he's saying. So you will not know he gonna do it or not. At that moment, you didn't know he's a liar. So you heard him and think okay this guy will going to do good things for us and you made a vote.

In voting we can never really know when someone who is running for a position is a liar. We can only determine the fact that they may be corrupt or good leaders. Its not us its them and their lies which makes us think that we are the ones who are at fault because we voted for them.
