I've been holding off buying bitcoin for the past two weeks, thinking the exchange rate would come back down. However, it keeps on rising. Will it keep rising past 100 USD, or is this just a bubble?

Also, what are some good bitcoin news sites so I don't have to bother you with my n00b questions?

Well, my tactic is to mine whatever I can and hope it will return back to ~50$ and buy some Wink

And I really don't think that there is anybody who can foretell the future...

That's true.

How does a poor, computer illiterate soul such as myself get into mining?

Depends on your computer, try to google some HOW TOs with GUIMiner (I guess that you are using Windows...)

I get the feeling that some day people will be saying, wow imagine getting in at under $100.

Who knows what may happen though, if unsure I would just buy a few to get on board and if they drop in value, buy more.

there is 50% chance to crash and 50% chance to go sky high. Now answer a question: what can i loose? If you invest $1000 and it will crash you can only loose $1000. But if it wont crash, then at what level value will possibly stop? $1000000?

I invested when bitcoin was $47. Basicaly i doubled my investment value now. But if it will crash someday for whatever reason and i wont see my money again i will never regret this because another chance in my life like this will never happend again.

Keep in mind that in cyprus many people just lost they life savings. And they was promised interest 4% or so per year ...

Just joined the forum. Two questions: Is it possible to short the Bitcoin? and is there a site that lists who accepts Bitcoins?

https://www.spendbitcoins.com/places

You can buy options for buying BTC in the future at a fixed price on CoinBr.  See the link in my signature.
You can also buy puts for selling at a certain price in the future.

https://www.bitcoinforum.com/coinbr-com/call-option-calculation/

Go make yourself some BTC!

It can be saved on USB as far as I know... Just make sure that the whole file is there and that the computer have all needed drivers (eg. drivers for OpenCL computing if you wish to mine with GPU.)

i think it's a bad time to invest so close to the $100 mark. Wait for a correction or until the $100 is history.

I think what was being conveyed is that it could go either way - up or down.
