What an exciting race, the outcome was really unexpected considering the situation at the end. Hamilton was so lucky and finished first. Vetel in the manner of a true champion pushed hard to win the race bad he actually pushed to hard and that cost him placement and podium. Such a shame for Botas with that flat tire, Mercedes had a double win situation at the end of the race. And what to say about Red Bull accident... If I was the head of the team I would be soooo angry. I know what rivalry means but that was so stupid by both drivers. Probably you don`t think  rational when you are in that kind of situation, giving your whole self to make as better as you can. Still, very very bad for Red Bull team.
Baku is my favorite track. I`m gonna buy F1 for PC just because of this one, I can`t wait to drive it

Really exciting race. Bottas had great chance to win race after he made his pit stop during safety car, but then he suffered puncture. Hamilton was very lucky to win today. Despite that it was only his first win, he already became a championship leader.
I'm not surprised to see how Red Bull drivers ended race today. During whole race they had some more minor accidents. Max moved twice before braking and Daniel just had nowhere to go. And again, Verstappen ruined race for Vettel.
Alonso showed masterclass again - he reached pit zone without two tyres and then he managed to reach finnish in 7th position. And great result for Leclerc - 6th position.
And biggest WTF today - Grosjean crash during safety car. I can't understand why he blamed Ericsson for it

This race was not boring at all. I knew the two Red Bulls would crash sooner or later by seeing they were fighting each other lap after lap, I cannot blame Verstappen this time. That was the most beautiful part of the race for me a huge crash. As a fan of Mclaren I am greatly disappointed by their performance and I think the Renault power unit is as bad as Honda.

^  Meh.  It's hard to say really.  Verstappen was defending too aggressively, he's more to blame than Ricciardo imho.  I remember he did the same to Vettel, Raikonnen and Hamilton (I think) in the 2016 (or was it 2017?) season.  And he has been making mistakes in each race this season.

Vettel's and Raikonnen's complaints against him in the past are justified.

Finally F1 is back in Europe.  Here's where it starts to get interesting as the stakes are getting higher and higher.  And the races are more prestigious imho due to their history in F1.

Ferrari mechanics has been known as one of the best in the world. That mistake that they made on the second pit stop is very unusual. They cost Sebastian a third place. Over 5 second work on changing tires is too much, I haven`t seen if they had to do something more on that pit stop.
Congratulations to Mercedes team, double win for them. Great job. And congratulations to Max, with front left wing slightly crushed he managed to finish the race in front of Sebastian, driving those last few circles with constant two second advantage. Vettel couldn`t do nothing to get closer and to attack that third position. Really good driver Max Verstappen. Great job.

@Kimi80. I did not watch the race but did Sebastian's 2nd pitstop done under the virtual safety car? That usually happens because they see it as an opportunity to change tires with not too much risk because overtaking is not allowed.

Yes that was the case but it went wrong. Esteban Ocon(Force India) had some malfunction and parked on the grass, he wasn`t on the track. The virtual safety car was on and it says literally `hazard on track. drivers must increase lap time by 40%. no overtaking.`It should of been cheap pit stop for Vettel but 5.6 second was too much man. It was 42nd lap out of 66. Now, I don`t know rules that good, it says there is no overtaking and Max overtake in this situation. Does it not include when driver make a pit stop, is it rule for drivers that are on the track only? I am not familiar with that detail.

They use medium tire. He wasn`t only one with medium tires on the track, I think that weather condition and track temperature made those therms but, as I recall, TV speaker said something like, Ferrari made bad decision when made tire selection for this race. Maybe the right choice
in this situation was super soft but I think they didn`t had those in their box. Crazy outcome...

@Kimi80. Soft would be the safer tire choice with 24 more laps to go. That might be too much laps for those tires for some drivers, but we already saw Sebastian run on track longer with overused tires and it got him the prize hehehe.

RBR is looking strong in Monaco...  Which is the most prestigious race of the season.  But one of the most boring as it has almost zero over taking.  Especially with the wider cars with the new specs that was implemented last year.  

But qualifying should still be exciting.

Oh, I watched video that Verstappen had identical crash in Monaco two years ago. Well, he did it again. If not this crash, I believe that Red Bull were able to get double podium.
That's a good point that with wider cars overtaking in Monaco become almost impossible, so why qualification results are crucial here. It's only second pole position in Ricciardo career, first was in Monaco back in 2016, but then he didn't won race after team mad mistake during pit stop.
I expect that we will see some crashes and safety car, maybe it will make this race more interesting.

Well, it was very boring race, but I'm very happy that Ricciardo won it. I think it's possible only in Monaco to win a race without 25% of car power. With wider cars overtaking in Monaco become almost impossible. In other track driver would just retire in such car conditions.
Verstappen before race said that he wont risk much, but he made some nice but risky overtakes. From P20 to P9 is great achievement.
But other drivers like Hamilton and Alonso were complaining that it was most boring race in their careers.

Hello racing fans.

See this is topic for speed, i like it. Personally more moto fan but like to watch f1 and sometimes when i have it on tv DTM.

Monaco GP this weekend was maybe one of the boring races in past 30 years there, however this was maybe good for championship for RedBull to win, and for the rest it was more just drive to finish. Tyres were very bad and all drivers have same problem but this is after all street race.

You know F1 is getting boring when nobody starts to care about the next race.    It's the Canadian GP this weekend guys.  Lol.  

Anyway, LTU_btc, I'll be paying you on two bets after a couple of races which looks like I'll be losing.

Vettel was really solid in qualifying today. But qualifying results aren't so important in Canada - it's perfect track for overtaking.
