I don't think that the criminals are here to use bitcoin, there are even a large number of educated people who do not know about bitcoin yet, then how the criminals found some time to set in front to their computer and started to learn about bitcoin,

"Bitcoin, the Internet currency beloved by computer scientists, libertarians, and criminals, is no longer invulnerable."

http://science.sciencemag.org/content/351/6278/1144.full

Did they finnally read http://www.bitcoinisnotanonymous.com/? Its surprising that still ppl think that bitcoin is anonymous, when it was known since 2008 that btc is only pseudo-anonymous.

Bitcoin is NOT anonymous: http://www.bitcoinisnotanonymous.com

Bitcoin as a pseudo-anonymous currency is used by a very little percentage for criminal and illegal activities. So currently who were aware of the growing technology and have some knowledge is found more in bitcoin.

anonymity on the internet does not exist anymore, who thinks the opposite is a fool.

Doesn't exist for average Joe-s but for people which are very experienced in computers, it exists and can be accessed by anyone who wish to remain anonymous on the net, using TOR browser and TAILS version of Linux which is a live OS with TOR incorporated, chances are very slim to find who you are and for that the government needs to spend lots of money. So yeah if you use Bitcoin by using the 2 systems above, it can become anonymous although it can be tracked later on but not in the beginning. Any criminal can be in some paradise Island, the moment its address become identified with its real IP so yeah in the end bitcoin can be anonymous, but as per se its pseudo-anonymous.
