Voting should be made only after we can understand and articulate clearly what our different options are with their respected implications (lite wallet is one of the options). Setting up voting without all the other options to choose from will be undemocratic and manipulative to say the least.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I'd like the first release to contain something innovative and not just sending/receiving tokens. But the community can vote on this.

This is exactly how I feel. Other cryptos offering to do similar things have already reached the market. The way Elastic excels is by coming to realization with something new to bring with it. A Lite client means absolute jack shit. We don't have to wait for the full thing, but there needs to be some meat along with mainnet launch.

Voting when made, should include not only the option for a lite client that only has transfer capabilities, but also other options such as an mvp - a product that has some of the capabilities we want in the system but not fully featured.
This issue was not discussed with EK and should be talked about here and receive some agreement before any voting is made.
When you talk about having a democratic vote it is not enough to have the option to vote, it is also important to supply enough voting options that give everyone their option to voice their opinion.

The way I see it we do not need to go  only black or white (black being a launch with a lite client that can only transfer coins, and white being a launch with a fully working all feature included system - hence my suggestion for gray - MVP - let us agree what it should include and what should be offered later after release).

Yep, let's wait for EK then

I think 3 options would be enough:
(1) Basic wallet with transfer feature
(2) Minimum-featured stable wallet - to be defined
(3) Maximum-featured stable wallet - to be defined

For options (2) and (3) we would need to know possible ETAs
Good! Understanding the choices is fundamental, so it would be great if EK has some time and could explain where we are standing and what we need to do in his
opinion for the 3 ways. Cheers!

How can I vote if I can't sign message on blockchain.info wallet ?!
Was there not a little API somewhere that used to do the trick, I voted the first time ? but can't find it back ?

While I believe that even a light client is better than waiting for a full product, I will vote for a MVP release.

It is important to have something to show in order to attract investors and developers. Otherwise we are indistinguishable from a sea of typical products.

The reason I don't want to wait for a full product is that software product goals are always a moving target. And although we like to think elastic is ahead, things can change.
You know, this is often how good ideas turn into vaporware. And I don't mean in cryptoland where any new product is a scam until proven otherwise, but in the world of software in general.
Projects start with the best of intentions and then things take forever to reach ideal quality until gradually the world moves on and leaves them behind

But we must have a clear definition of what a MVP will contain and stick to that. Otherwise it's all for nothing.

Another use cases;

1. Weather predictions
2. Simulation of the galaxy
3. Use the blockchain power for security purposes
4. Maybe use of tensorflow

Is this all possible?

Yes, We are working on it for lite wallet version with mainnet.
We will prepare mainnet and contact to exchanges.

We really do need clear guidelines on what we are voting on.

I think being listed on an exchange without any working product, merely a token exchange, is a good idea.

1)Gets funds for the foundation.
2)Marketing
3)Draw in more Devs
4)Get investors to watch the prototype videos
5)I think putting the project and coing out at the same time is a recipe for failure. At any hint of an update, the coin will be shook more than if we release them separately. In other words, expectations are lowered. This is a project that will be released in iterations with updates that should be stated in the beginning.

This will go bad for sure! Preparing a lite wallet is a lot more than setting a flag on an unfinished code base.

Yes:

However, it is not cost efficient, merely a proof of concept. It is a very exciting project. Spread the word.

EK, you could probably change a lot of our minds. I'm definitely listening if you want something different for the direction of the project.

techwriterjoe: I meant that if you take an unfinished code base with fixes and patches being continuously checked in to try them out trial-and-error-style and just flip out "testnet=true" by "testnet=false", I can guarantee you that the whole thing fails within 1 minute.

I can help getting the "lite functionality" working in a stable branch, but that is at least a week of work.

I'm sure the entire community would love to see an EK-approved lite-version. I'm not sure who has the control over the master repo, but I'm sure you have a big hand in what actually gets pulled in, as you should.

I personally think we should just list the coin on the exchange without a lite-version of the elastic functionality. If we give them everything at once, and then have even a minor hiccup, expectations were already set too high. I think a coin, then a polished/tested lite version, and that's as far in the future as we even need to think right now.

We need more content on the site before we list on an exchange. Anybody can do this. I will have time in about a week. I have been waiting for a more complete project before writing anything. If I wrote anything 6 months ago, it would have been useless by now.
