This is the discription of the expirience of the GMP by now with the transition from FPGA boards Type: Lancelot to AVALON ASIC. On June 30 2011 the project started and was able trough the cryptostocks system to buy 5 Lancelot boards. The mine itself is running since late August 2012 constant and have produced by now like 75 BTC in dividends and onhold value.
Soon after the Lancelot developer got involved into the development of the AVALON ASIC devices and offered cause of this to all Lancelot and Icarus Costumers a tradein Option for AVALON ASIC - We got the offer from the manifacturer to tradein all 5 Lancelot with a 400 $ price off per AVALON ASIC.
That means we just pay 899 $ & shipping for each AVALON ASIC.

Acutaly we are positioned for batch2 so we gonna get at least 5 AVALON devices for the Glari Mining Project. We are aware that not everyone is able to finance a AVALON device so we see the principle of cryptostocks shareholder mining as a very usefull way for the comunity.
I think its fair to inform the comunity about this time limited oportunity to get involved in ASIC mining.

The next difficulty target is estimated to take place on block 217728, almost exactly at the time that many customers will be receiving their Avalon ASICs, so the first time mining difficulty significantly moves up to reflect the network’s newfound strength will only happen in early February. Butterfly Labs will, unfortunately, miss the golden opportunity, and buyers of bASICs will have to wait even longer is they choose to spend their refunds on a competitor’s product. Regardless, however, it is becoming clear that every day we are getting closer to the pinnacle of Bitcoin mining coming right to our desktops.

Wait, 75 BTC since August 2011 (~18 months)?! That can't be right, can it?

My Credentials  | THE BTC Stock Exchange | I have my very own anthology! | Use bitcointa.lk, it's like this one but better.

AVALON Batch1 started shipping:
Quote
Oh you guys, I think everyone is at a boiling point because of the delays made by our competitors.

We shipped, website will be updated shortly.

First unit goes to Jeff Garzik in honor for the work he has done for the bitcoin codebase being the only developer who ordered from us.

we also arranged to ship a unit to the Bitcoin Foundation, whom is going to do a demo.

The avalon team on the other hand is going to make sure the whole shipping process go smoothly. like handling DHL/EMS problem, and other custom issues.

cheers.
