You're a bit late. Maybe batch #3 will open someday.

Yes, I meant the batch #3 ordering

Now that they have delivered considerably more machines (batch #1) all over the world, a lot more people will realize Avalon is capable of delivering faster than BFL

If you place an order with Avalon next week for batch #3, it will ship out in April
If you place an order with BFL next week, it will ship out somewhere in the summer

They NEED your money to assemble batch #1.

Go give your hard earned to the Chinese but do not expect anything (except a headache) from them in return!
Who cares? batch #3 orders will pay for batch #2 customers.

(lol)

lol, bitponzi!

You know, I'm OK with it, so long as they don't plan to continue operating like that forever.

Developing an ASIC is an enormously difficult and expensive job, and I'm glad to help contribute to the effort, in exchange for a share of the sweet rewards.

I got my batch 1 Avalon yesterday, and am looking forward to delivery of my batch 2.

Hey organofcorti, any big changes regarding the network hashrate predictions you made?

Hey organofcorti, any big changes regarding the network hashrate predictions you made?

My quote above was referring to an answer I got using a Magic 8-Ball rather than the crystal sphere Integ used.

As for your question, the mining Difficulty and the network hashrate are both a little bit less than I expected in the "9.11 ASIC choices" post. This could be due to fewer Avalons than expected, a drop in hashrate due to the hard fork, or ASICMiner not increasing hashrate as expected. Or something else.

But we're pretty close the estimates in the post.

How BFL not shipping? You factored in BFL shipping, right? So far they have not, so that means Avalon ASICs are profitable

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I assumed BFL customers wouldn't start to receive their ASICs until 31st March.

In case you didn't read the post, here are the assumptions:

Quote
1. Assumptions
These have again been changed to reflect the current guesses about ASIC manufacture. Avalon and BFL shipping dates have been adjusted, and ASICMiner has only 8 Thps left to add to the network hashrate. I'm using the not yet confirmed Avalon "batch 4" again in order to extrapolate data further.
*Arrivals are constant. Rather than modelling arrival times, I'm assuming a constant rate of hashes per second added to the network for each of the batches.
*Batch 1: 250 units arrive arrive from 11th March to 17th March.
*Batch 2, 3 and 4: 1.2 Thps per day delivered from 1st April to 1st July.
*BFL delivers 2000 Ghps per day (~35 SC Singles per day) from 31st March to 1st July.
*ASICMiner delivers 8 Thps evenly from 4th March until 31st March (the hashrate increase for ASICMiner has slowed recently)
*Initial difficulty = 4 367 876
*Initial network hashrate = 33 975

The estimates stand, I think. We're not far off.

My only questions are:

If I order an Avalon in Batch 3... I will eventually at some point in time get a unit?

I was with you until last week. I just asked support from walletbit last week and then I got the confirmation from walletbit after 1 day or 2.

Avalon is quiet, nothing from them.
