Investing in yourself has its own risk as well, you cant say that if you invest in yourself then it is risk free. The risk is smaller but it is still risky especially when you have to do everything by yourself . That means that there is double workload for you to maintain while investing in another person's business is better because you have no workload at all as all it needs is money

If you get scammed, it is your fault. It is your duty as an investor to know the company you are investing in. Do your due diligence in researching about the history and financial status of the company before putting your money in. If you don't, you can easily be scammed. every investment comes with a risk. So there is no sure 100% that your investment will earn money. But you should be looking at how risky are you willingly to take to earn certain percentage. I am able to put my money in a bank and it is very safe +stable but the 0.1% is turning me off.
