B its not really my job to do it.

No worrys. Just make it as simple as poss with instructions for us non Linux people

I think there should be option to be billed hourly or daily like some dash node hostings.

And also it'd be good if we can deposit btc or dnet to our accounts so we can be billed directly from deposit hourly or daily so we'll not have to track renewal dates node by node.

Ok I have done a few test builds  of the new Damon and i will be able to provide you a script to update your masternodes without rebuilding them.

Also as from tomorrow 11:00am GMT any new orders will be using the new masternode template.

Sure. I restarted all of them. After they were 'MISSING' i restarted again. And after a while their staus is 'EXPIRED'.

since i'm away on april 1. i want to be sure my masternodes will not stop working becauses of a missing fee.

is there a possibility to re-pay/renew all of my services in one process in advance?

i want to renew all my services by the end of march for 1 - 3 months (not sure yet). you can set the same day for renewal on any of my services (current from 11. - 15.) and i suggest day 11. i don't mind if i loose some time for services bought btw. 12 - 15 march and i think it is easier for you.

atm i don't see a possibility to already renew my services in advance and the "mass payment" section shows the amount of 0.

i'm asking this here cuz i guess other users want to know this too.

ok i have looked at the accounts system and you can load up your account with credit
just let me know how much and i will get the system to do a invoice for you
You will still have to ay the invoice in the same way but it will show on your account as

CREDIT

any invoices that get generated after the credit is on your account will be paid out of that 
you will be able to look at your account and see how much credit is left at any time.

All you need to do is open a support ticket and ask for a invoice for account credit and il will set it up for you.

i guess there is something wrong!

best thing to do is

make sure you are on the latest version 1.0.2.0.1


 
stop darknet by typing

./darknet-cli stop

then

delete everything in the .darknet folder
apart from
darknet.conf
masternode.conf
wallet.dat



then start the damon and let it sync up before you start the masternode.

that has worked on a  masternode that i was having issues

Seems the new v1.0.2.1 masternode image has the darknetd already running from get go.
Easiest way is to do following once you login to the new masternode VPS for the first time:
(note that this assumes you have a separate controller wallet where you secured 10K DNET)

0. Check if wallet is already running & what version (e.g. "version" : 1010001 = 1.1.0.1)
./darknet-cli getinfo

1. Stop darknet (if above command worked & showed a version)
./darknet-cli stop

2. Edit masternode.conf file via command
 nano /root/.darknet/darknet.conf

3. Add/change following lines only:
masternode=1
masternodeprivkey=<yourkey_from_controller_wallet_after_running_masternode_genkey>
rpcuser=<randomusername>
rpcpassword=<randonpassword>

4a. Now if wallet version is NOT 1.1.0.1 or you are not sure, run the upgrade script as per below: (if not, skip to next step 4b)
cd
wget http://164.132.143.5/1.1.0.1/darknet-update.sh
sh ./darknet-update.sh
- this will upgrade your wallet then start the wallet/masternode for you.

4b. Start darknet (no need if you used upgrade script above)
./darknetd

5. Wait until blocks sync up to latest block:
./darknet-cli getinfo

6. Check status of your masternode.
./darknet-cli masternode status
- Status should say "Not capable masternode: Hot node, waiting for remote activation." This is expected and normal.

7. Start the matching masternode alias from your controller wallet's debug CLI:
masternode start-alias <alias>

8. Check status of your masternode.
./darknet-cli masternode status
- If your txid and pubkey shows up and says "status" : "Masternode successfully started", it's all done!
- Now just wait 24 to 48 hours for your first MN payment!

sometimes the connection to my vps's on your hosting is very slow (not complaning for the current price).
i use some other services with better connection speed and some additional features like ssh keys, 2 FA Login to account managment etc. @ $3/month, to give you an idea.

if you go for $5 you will maybe loose customers to digital ocean and other big cloud companys.
the income for one mn is around 5-6$ per Month @ current value/number of masternodes, so i guess all over $5 would be problematic anyway.

Just like to say to you all thanks for the support  you have given MP-Hosting by hosting your Masternodes  with me.

Now im not going anywhere  or closing anything down LOL

But i have been going over the costs  etc and i need some feedback form you all about the price of the masternodes.

At the moment 1 change $2.5 for the first month and that includes a setup fee of $1

What i need to know is what would you say is a fair price for this service per month

$5
$7.5
$10

per month per masternode there wont be a setup change  anymore 

a lot of this is down to the 40% price increase  for the hosting

so its down to you guys / gals what im going to charge  for hosting.


Please  as always be total honest its the best way
I have always be 100% honest with you so please be the same to me good or bad.

Well yes it cloud goto $2.10 a month to be inline with the 40% increase

Lets say that i lose 50% of the customers on 1 server you wont want me moving your masternodes to a different server to save my costs will you ?

I cannot ping/connect to them and get 500 Internal server error on your website when trying to manage them.
So I cannot even start/restart them back online. I've opened a ticket. I hope you can get them back up soon!

i have had to reboot it
it snow restarting the VPS's

im looking at getting it replaced with a  server in France

if they will do that i will move the VPS's 1 ip block at a time

I wish i had never got the Dam server in Canada its been a total pain in the ASS  from the very start

I have problems with 2 of my nodes after upgrade.

They keep going missing.

I upgraded again and one of them gave this error;

I'm having some problems with Chrome showing your security certificate as not valid, Paul. Maybe only my browser.
On the other hand, I have been finally able to fix my node, ticket  224168, after stopping the server and restarting it rescaning the wallet with ./darknetd -rescan. Hope this will help in other tickets, Paul.

One of mine at 158.69.13*.** has had to be restarted several times in the past 24 hours. Seems to be working now, but figured I'd let you know in case the info is useful. Others in the 158.69.**.** range have been fine.

Edit: no, now it's back offline again for the 4th time in the last while. Starts fine but then goes offline after a few hours. Not sure what the deal is....

- Not running any unnecessary services,  on the machine where it is.
- Not running windows...
- Backup paper wallet(s) / USB stored in a safe deposit box
- Planning for transfer of control of the wallet to spouse, children in the event of death (instructions, pointers to a trusted person capable of helping to access funds)

so this update scrypt will open it up for you at the right time

When its opened up you need to delete the addnode lines and add the following

to delete the lines move the curder down to the addmode line and press

:wq (pushed simultaneously, one after another, first : then wq???) I have tried some combinations but due the server lag, or my imcopetency or another thing I has been unable to record my changes.

Then I have tried to stop the scrypt execution when the config file is opened. I have corrected it manually with nano darknet.conf in the .darknet directory and checked changes have been saved. All seems to be ok, ./darknetd, server started, then ./darknet-cli, but when the blockchain finish to load, i have this:

so
im going to build a new server tonight 
and transfer  the VPS's over to it 1 set at a time
this should mean that no one will lose the VPS connection

i guess berron expects a script so everytime our vps's are restarted out of the blue like yesterday the corrupted chain will automatically be replaced.

I have to admit some servers are realy slow sometimes. i hope it will be better with ssd, but i guess we have to resync again after that

Paul, I restarted the MN's when the update happened. If I remember correctly I did it about ten times before the devs were finally able to fix everything. I helped trying to install the new version of the wallet everytime it was changed as soon as I could and informing about the results. And of course, that was not your responsibility at all, and I think no one told anything in this thread during those days. But there has been in these months a lot of server restarting, due changes in configuration, external attacks and so on. And avoid that is your responsibility as to have a strong pass to my servers is mine.

Sorry, Paul, but if things don't start to change, I will migrate all my MN's to vultr once the contracted time expires. I have one there during two months, and yes, I had to do all the config work and in that moment it was really expensive compared to yours. But the MN's didn't fail a day in those two months. It's frustrating to have to redo all once and once again. As I told you, I'm losing time and money everytime this happens. Don't take this as any kind of personal attack, simply the quality of the contracted service is less than expected lately. Hope you being able to sort all the things out, but in other case, I will have to abandone your servers. In only some days reward is going to decrease and we will have lost a good amount of DNET in this period. And I only have half docen of MN's. People with a lot of them has the right to be really upset wtih this.

Please, include a darknet-update-blockchain.sh in your scrypt list to avoid us to sync the complete blockchain everytime that this kind of shit happens. Your server are horrible slow updating, and I can't stay half an hour waiting for the sync. These problems make me lost money and a lot of time.

the problem is everytime the vps's are restarted (yesterday almost all of my mn's were restarted) we have to resync from scratch because the chain is corrupted.
i guess berron expects a script so everytime our vps's are restarted out of the blue like yesterday the corrupted chain will automatically be replaced.

Paul, I restarted the MN's when the update happened. If I remember correctly I did it about ten times before the devs were finally able to fix everything. I helped trying to install the new version of the wallet everytime it was changed as soon as I could and informing about the results. Some people has found problems restarting the MN's from the controller wallet, controller wallet shows the MN's as ENABLED but when you enter in the MN and type

./darknet-cli masternode status

you found the message "Hot masternode waiting for remote activation". Jakiman found the solution stopping and starting again the daemon. And I find that it you make it very fast it doesn't work. So in that case you have to do:

./darknet-cli stop
sleep 15
./darknetd
./darknet-cli get-info

And restart the MN's from the controller wallet. I have found some problems also using start-all instead of start-alias to restart them, but I think this is not a general problem.

If anyone find any kind of mistake, please tell.

Something similar in my node in 192.99.217.xy. When I have checked it, MN was stopped and blockchain corrupted. I'm resyncing it to see if it starts to work again.

Both of my MN's in 192.99.217 has finally fallen. First of all as I told in the previous post due to corrupted blockchain, and the other one stucked in block 319325. I have already recovered first of it, and now I'm recovering the second one from scratch.

Paul, please, update the blockchain copy you have to accelerate things in this cases. If you download the current copy it results in corrupted blockchain.

At ***** we are committed to remaining competitive in both our prices and product ranges. While we have postponed action for as long as possible, economic changes following the Brexit decision have forced us to re-evaluate our pricing.

Back in June the UK decided to leave the European Union which caused the UK economy to rock and weakened the British pound against the Euro/Dollar. This impacted many businesses across the UK and in ******’s case it triggered a price increase from our suppliers which we have absorbed over the past few months.

In response, OVH has had to carefully review its pricing structure across certain product ranges. As expected, following our in-depth review we have had to increase our Dedicated Server prices by 20%. We are in the process of updating our website to reflect this change today (Thursday the 15th of December). At the moment the new pricing only affects new customers and new orders. In contrast, as a valued existing customer, these changes will not be applied to your existing servers until your 15th of January 2017 invoice.

the new price increase  will com into effect at the end of Jan 2017

Masternode hosting will go up from $1.5 per month to $1.8 per month
the setup fee will remain the same $1
