well population is tiny i guess there, up to 10 peoples but it's still a good thing for bitcoin, it won't change price but it's okay

also would be funny to see what would happen/how they would react to fact that bitcoin would die, they would change currency to euro like Portugal? or maybe their own currency

Revolutionary to claim to be the first country who will use Bitcoin as national currency. Maybe the first and last one who dare to do this.

Why so negative. It's a start. From here the price is likely to go up. And bitcoin can get some traction. In the end it makes bitcoin more reliable to some countries since others were before them...

I know this is old news as I heard it about it late last year. But with other countries banning it or calling it terrorist money, then this is welcomed news. Since it has been more than 4 months, what has changed. I heard they are putting up a new flag to show their dedication to the coin.

At least thats a first move to see even a tiny island is using bitcoin as its main currency,im sure that 3rd world country should also start using this so that dollars cant manipulate their industry and currency.

i don't understand why some people get excited about this. just a few people live on that island. it doesn't do anything for bitcoin.

Ok, gonna post this again:

No one lives there, not a country, not an island, just a building:

He is a funny guy, one can even say he is a joke.

He bought a building in 2000 that has a particular history in Portugal because it was sold by the king of Portugal when the country was broke in 1903.

He clearly likes monarchy and likes people to call him "Your Majesty".

Here's the building:
