Its hard to reference, i've also seen it mentioned several time. Its not a new concept either, to say the least, but a plug and play heating solution could be nice. Its basically a water cooled miner however, it already exist.

I'm guessing it would need to have an integrated shunt on a thermostat built in to dump the heat outside to actually be a home cooling option. From looking at the designs it doesn't look like there is one, in which case it would be nothing new.

The heat seem to be sent directly to a main Radiator which use ambiant air to cool itself, which mean you would not have a way to direct the heat where/when you need it.

Now my suggestion was to not purchase the boiler and purchase s-7's.

 my advice would have been 6000 out of pocket with 32th of hash.

  that hash would have mined since march 4th and earned 1.46 coins - power cost so let us say 1 coin back so far.

I am not against a boiler setup but this offer was and is risky.

My brother in law has a home that uses oil for a boiler he has a 220 volt line he could feed this unit with the 3300 watts needed so come October this could work for him.

So if he can pay Sept 1 and get it Oct 15 if may be a good deal.  Buying now not so good.

The guy was out of line, like others replied afterward. You really should not pay heed of that STFU thing.

But anyhow, thats one of the thread. The home heater is a bit gimmicky, since every ASIC already do that

Bitmain has shit service, to say the least, so i may not be inclined to buy from them anymore. However they do deliver their short term pre-order, if not a bit late or DOA/crap hardware.

I'd advise to anyone to reject any scam/rip off pre-order thats 1 month + ahead of time, however. In other real life scale, pre-ordering ASIC... is like pre-ordering a 2018 car, to be received in 2038.

Nothing new. Any miner produces heat which will heat a room. The new bitfury chips sound enticing, but really just getting a miner and letting it run will heat a room up. The presell is the part that worries me. If these ever come out, i'd buy it in stock rather than prebuy.. because all these scams these days.

The high end bitfury 3300 watt one makes sense for people that have boilers in their home

My bro in law has an oil powered furnace with a boiler it is more then 60 years old he has a 220 volt power line and I think the math works for him to convert to this boiler .

That said my bro in law is an ass and other then point a gun to his head I would not be able to convince him to do this.

Secondly if I called a guy in Brooklyn and ordered this today and he would install it in my bro in laws home in a week or so I would try to convince him.

Telling my bro in law to pay 6400 today and wait until September - October won't work.

This product would be good for homes in the New York City area with oil fired boilers.

Btw there are many.  Even attaching this to a solar grid here in NJ would be a nice project.
But the waiting is not easy.

I haven't followed up on it at all, but I wonder if they have plans to make an annual standardized hashboard upgrade. So you buy the whole system, heat your house for a winter, and then next winter or two winters down or whenever the network has caught up, you can buy and install refit boards with newer more efficient chips. That's the only way to ensure long-term feasibility of a permanent system like this.

Not true if you bring in a sale of thousands... would a scammer pay a referral of a small amount? I would guess so.    Paying a small referral for largly unknown miner does not prove real.

Why not release vids to all?   Or show some documents with Bitfury saying they are teaming up with you?  That is route I would go to prove real.   Even if real... I'm not convinced water heater miner would ever catch mainstream sales.

Gavin Andresen suggested the future may even witness bitcoin mining equipment that utilizes the generated heat for household equipment, like electric blankets. And indeed, at least one startup — hotmine.io  — is currently offering water boilers and other household products that mine bitcoin.

Me's wonder if this outfit is affiliated with Ivan of Hashing24 (see my sig to get up to speed if not versed).
