Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where coinmarketcap.com gets their pricing data from? They have over 600 different coins listed. To my knowledge no single exchange has anywhere near that many coins traded. Cryptsy used to be the big alt-coin exchange, but ran into trouble. Where do people go to trade the many coins out there, especially ones with low volume?!?

Thanks!

Poloniex is now the biggest non-Chinese alt exchange since Cryptsy died. It is pretty liquid. Bittrex sadly doesn't have as much liquidity which means orders tend not to be filled very quickly even for moderately popular coins.

Hey thanks!

I hadn't heard of Bittrex.com. It appears they have about 190 coins. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I'm trying to see where Coinmarketcap.com is basing its pricing as they list prices for over 600 coins!

Click on the highlighted price of any coin you want. The page that opens gives you more info about the coin and it shows all the markets for that coin.

Well if you ask me only the title of thread... I'd say that I trade my altcoins at shapeshift. But there are very limited altcoins available there.

Yep they're good and Yobit as well.  I've had no problems with either one.

Who says "Everyone" trades Altcoins ?

Some of us just hold them forever.
and since exchanges are not a bank..

Yup.. that's right.
Not everyone came to Crypto to profit and buy Lambo's  Shocked
It's a fair assumption though..

EDIT:
A better question would have been WHERE do i SPEND them ?
But you guys really don't give a shit about that do you ?

This is a good source but I traded mainly on Yobit and ccex only had no problems with both of them especially on Yobit where I spend some of my earnings to promising and coins that will likely yield a profit in the long run..

BTC e is still very active place and it is profitable for me. I also trading on Yobit but they have small volume of trade and sometimes you need few days for orders to get filled. Bittrex and Poloniex are good for arbitrage.

not me...

They have over 600 different coins listed.
if you check most of them at the bottom of the list they have no trading volume and no exchanges that actually trade them!
batcoin for example! Huh

Quote
Where do people go to trade the many coins out there, especially ones with low volume?!?
at coinmarketcap.com click on every obscure coin your heart desires;
right next to Charts tab there's a Markets tab which shows which exchanges are dealing it.
it also shows some extra info like volume and such;
like this one, lol.

or you can click on any exchanges name there and see a list of all the coins they're trading!
like this.

Nice tips! Changelly offers instant and seamless conversion of 80+ altcoins and tokens, including LTC, XMR, ETH, and XRP, along with fiat currency support. By aggregating rates from other trading platforms, Changelly suggests the best rate for both buy and sell transactions and then sends your coins directly to your wallet address. Unlike exchanges, Changelly never holds your coins in any platform wallet. With a low cryptocurrency trade fee of just 0.5% – no withdrawal fees or additional commissions, Changelly is one of the best options for trading altcoins. I recommend you to try etherdelta its a good exchange and most altcoins are listed on here. Just take a peek on this exchanger its a decentralize and safe to sell or buy altcoins.
Or if you want it is also good choice to for you to choose cryptopia

yeah i also noticed that many users here are always criticize and debate about how bad yobit exchange was but i dont realy think yobit was a bad exchange because ive known it a long time ago up until now and i still use it , yobit also supports forked coins and segwit coins whenever there is an upcomming one and thats what makes it an extra good online exchange howver many people thinks it bad as it sopports all kind of coins and tokens even the shitty ones.

i believe etherdelta is still the biggest online exchange because majority of coins and tokens especially the latest one that is not yet out on any other exchange will always be listed on etherdelta. there were also man popular exchanges out there like yobit that also supports all kinds of coins. overall etherdelta is the most used online exchange everyday to buy or sell coins expecially for those airdrop and bounty hunters. decentralized exchange is also better and best to use when compared  to a regulated ones.

I think not everyone likes etherdelta, because most consider the coin in etherdelta the rate is less than satisfactory, and always look forward to bigger market listings, such as yobit, binance, hitbtc or bitrex, so everyone has their own favorite market own

But because of the overwhelming listing of coins in etheredelta the network is now compromised by this and it's really annoying that even after you set a high gwei still it's not yet transacted and you almost miss the pump and dump and loss the chance to gain more profit. From what's happening right now in ED I just shift meanwhile to hitbtc so I can trade smoothly.

In connection with the recent events on Etnerdelt, there is no desire to trade there. Until the end, of course, I will not give up this exchange, but I will reduce my trading volumes there.

Everyone is now  all swarming into Binance. Another one is Kucoin which is very close to Binance when it comes to popularity and volume. These two are now the polo and bittrex of the old days.

I don't like outdated coinmarketcap, Just you can exchange your altcoins to ethereum on etherdelta exchange, they have a delta of altcoins regularly listed on their plaform to trade between.
If you are using smartphone, then etherdekta may look confusing to you, gives best view on desktop. Another big altcoins exchange is hitbtc, explore markets on bith and decide which one to choose as your favourite exchange
