This sounds logicaly, in my opinion, this is actually the reason why electro cars arent still everywhere totally replacing the gasoline ones. Becouse oil guys doesnt want that, they will loose money in the case.

For me, it doesn't compete anyway with the vehicles using oil, first, cars using oil is more faster than electric cars so by just that speed it was very far to compare. Second, it has a limited usage time where you need to charge it to a longer hours before you can use it again unlike Oil based cars where you need just to go to gas station to refill. Also, Oil based car can be used even in very far places unlike electric cars is only limited distance due to limited battery life.
