Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

And a 14 year old can easily afford 100$, I'm 14 and can afford way more then that, and no, it's not from my parents.
Just because you can, doesn't mean everyone else can, too. There are many places in the world were $100 is a ton of money.

Quote
You can't seriously expect a 13 year old from the Phillipines to afford $100?? That's a well paid month's wages over there!

Give this kid a break. Atleast he's actually paying you back unlike most of the scammers here and kudo's to him for coming back to try clear his name.
+1
I think it's great he tries to clear his name.
I'm sure enough adults will fall for the lending Btc->price skyrockets->aren't able to pay anymore.

I am a lender here on the forums and had negotiated longer repayments or lesser repayments with lots of people when the BTC price skyrocketed and all were adults, I had to, it was an unexpected outcome, I was still way in profit in the end though Cheesy
Once repayments are too big, they turn into a form of enslavement.
I think it would be great, if loans regularly would be done with a $-cap at a level the loaner is able to repay (, because let's face it, if it's like 100 times the investment before, the borrower will most likely default anyway. Also you are most likely rich then, unless you loan away all your coins, which you really shouldn't do.).

come on
if he was borrowing when BTC was 250$ and returning now he wouldn't return the original 250$ he would return less then half
so how can he expect not to lose when the rate working against him but earn when the rate is working for him

The loan is in default, there is certainly precedent for a scammer tag that could be removed with full repayment. He also seems to have "scammed" ironcross by taking his XRP and flipping it before repayment.

Bizarre situation... I've reported the thread, probably the lender has to request the OP to be added to the defaulted loans list and tagged.

Nonsense Shocked

He borrowed a dollar amount in terms of some folks view. The original contract posted leaves room for loopholes Cheesy
Second he is not liable until he is 18 Wink But why would you loan a 13/14 year old so much?

Third he sold Ripple for somebody else trying to make you some $ to repay you. However that is not all his.

DPony13 has not payed back still waiting for the full BTC Amount. He had or has BTC to pay the full amount. He needs to repay the loan back. .9BTC

I've searched for a thread regarding

OP scamming ironcross
and it is non existant.

I think it's pretty much right, since
OP didn't expect for 1 BTC to raise up to 100$+

and paid back the value of 100$ in Bitcoin.

That's fair enough isn't it?
I think OP shouldn't be scammer tagged

I understand that, and that not everyone can, but there's no reason to defend this person. It's his fault for borrowing the bitcoins, he knew the risks, and he should accept them and re-pay it.

It's all on you..

Since 100$ is about 4000+ in their country
and the fact that he's 13/14

I dunno how he'd pay for the whole thing anymore Tongue

Hi,

I have 12k ripple I am looking to sell

looking for around 1.7BTC

but you would have to go first

Are you interested?

Not after reading about your default on a previous loan. You would have to go first.

Already sold the XRP

thanks anyways

Here's a PM exchange that took place today. Looks like DPony13 has 1.7 BTC now to pay back the loan!

He hasn't received any more than 0.2
For a long time

^ another one of his addresses
the last transaction with more than 0.9 bitcoins
was January.

I doubt he received 1.7 Bitcoins at all.

According to ironcross360, those ripples belonged to him and DPony13 just made a profit out of flipping them:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140856.msg2371399#msg2371399

though you may have a point,
he's 13 and can't possibly pay 100$~

Give the kid a chance.

Yes, that was a joke. Clearly you are not following ironcross' poop selling escapades and other oddities. If you read between the lines, it was a scam... he flipped ironcross' XRP without his knowledge or agreement... it could have easily gone the other way... what is XRP crashed between the time he purchased and sold? He'd claim the very same repayment logic.

If I were you, I would probably take what he claims he can pay and arrange for him to work the rest off, clearly he has internet access and the capability to do tasks (that make money.) I suspect that he has the ability to repay, but refuses. Whether or not you pursue the tag is your prerogative.

I don't really understand the "he's a kid from the Philippines and doesn't have much money" logic... the loan was taken and to be re-payed in BTC, the OP has demonstrated that he should not be trusted, who knows if he's really a kid from the Philippines?

And I'm sorry, but if he can speak English and effectively use technology, he should have no problem coming up with ~$100 in BTC.

This isn't a "heartless act," it also isn't charity. You deserve to be repayed, if he can't repay in bitcoin, surely he can do some work to fulfill the debt.

i'm from philippines too, standard monthly wage here is around 250usd.  i think the borrower isn't a 13 or 14 year old kid, he may just be using this as an excuse.  also, i think the increase in bitcoin price from 15usd to 120usd made the borrower reluctant to pay the loan.  mr dpony, if you're sincere enough, why don't you first send 0.1-0.2btc to the lender and see how things work out?

dpony, until you pay some btc, the scammer tag will follow you.
