I am a lender here on the forums and had negotiated longer repayments or lesser repayments with lots of people when the BTC price skyrocketed and all were adults, I had to, it was an unexpected outcome, I was still way in profit in the end though

Once repayments are too big, they turn into a form of enslavement.
I think it would be great, if loans regularly would be done with a $-cap at a level the loaner is able to repay (, because let's face it, if it's like 100 times the investment before, the borrower will most likely default anyway. Also you are most likely rich then, unless you loan away all your coins, which you really shouldn't do.).

Second he is not liable until he is 18 But why would you loan a 13/14 year old so much?

Third he sold Ripple for somebody else trying to make you some $ to repay you. However that is not all his.

DPony13 has not payed back still waiting for the full BTC Amount. He had or has BTC to pay the full amount. He needs to repay the loan back. .9BTC

I understand that, and that not everyone can, but there's no reason to defend this person. It's his fault for borrowing the bitcoins, he knew the risks, and he should accept them and re-pay it.

Yes, that was a joke. Clearly you are not following ironcross' poop selling escapades and other oddities. If you read between the lines, it was a scam... he flipped ironcross' XRP without his knowledge or agreement... it could have easily gone the other way... what is XRP crashed between the time he purchased and sold? He'd claim the very same repayment logic.

If I were you, I would probably take what he claims he can pay and arrange for him to work the rest off, clearly he has internet access and the capability to do tasks (that make money.) I suspect that he has the ability to repay, but refuses. Whether or not you pursue the tag is your prerogative.

I don't really understand the "he's a kid from the Philippines and doesn't have much money" logic... the loan was taken and to be re-payed in BTC, the OP has demonstrated that he should not be trusted, who knows if he's really a kid from the Philippines?

And I'm sorry, but if he can speak English and effectively use technology, he should have no problem coming up with ~$100 in BTC.

This isn't a "heartless act," it also isn't charity. You deserve to be repayed, if he can't repay in bitcoin, surely he can do some work to fulfill the debt.

i'm from philippines too, standard monthly wage here is around 250usd.  i think the borrower isn't a 13 or 14 year old kid, he may just be using this as an excuse.  also, i think the increase in bitcoin price from 15usd to 120usd made the borrower reluctant to pay the loan.  mr dpony, if you're sincere enough, why don't you first send 0.1-0.2btc to the lender and see how things work out?

dpony, until you pay some btc, the scammer tag will follow you.
