I'd estimate there were probably about 600ish devices that qualified as trade-in capable, and my guess is that at least half were sent back in.

So how they want to finish batch#2 with end of june ?

I had a guy from work (a native speaker) call Mr. Chen yesterday.  Apparently, they have a trade-in queue.  FIFO.
If your boards were received after Apr 22, you had at least 40 people (not boards, but people) in front of you.
Mr. Chen said that the notifications will be sent out based on the order the boards were received.

My guesstimate is that about 100 people sent the boards.  With an average of 2-3 boards per person.
So 200 to 300 Avalon units I guess.

Ahh, ok. See, I'm not sure why this info wasn't really relayed to folks. I suppose it's a language issue more than anything else. Oh well. Looking forward to hearing from them in the near future.

If you look at the link in my sig, you'll see I was like one of the first people to immediately do a trade-in. I even paid over $200 to do so.

IF you paid your trade-in up front in Full already you should have opened a batch #2  ticket.

Or you can wait longer with the rest of us.

As far as Trade-In units..i estimate them to be ~100-200 units,  some guys sent 20+ a piece in.  I only sent 1 in.

I've been trying to keep things updated on the link in my sig. The trade-ins I have not heard anything about. But two units from my regular order have, in fact, shipped.

Yifu, Avalon, etc should have addressed these by now.   Has anyone at all received a trade-in added to their store account?

Batch #3 is going on 2+ months late.  Trade-ins are going on several months late.  Its very hard to stay patient.

Yifu, please come through for us.

So, no news yet?

i guess, maybe its best to process all trade-in orders manually?
Because as i see it, the main problem, is that Yifu trying to update their site, for trade-ins...and its taking 2-3 weeks already.. Undecided

Are trade-ins considered part of Batch2, Batch3 or completely separate from both?

Since there is no personal info for the trade-in till today, GMP is considering the hardware sended for trade-in as lost.
GMP is a crowdmining project, the ignorance of the Avalon Team is affecting not just one person.
Yifu you are a scamer, even if you deliver now, you scamed all trade-in guys - period.

We all was very patient with you, but you dnt even think about to talk to us. This is sad.
Thats why i have to request a scamer tag for Yifu (Bitsyncom) and the Avalon Team.

Can you give us any information on where we stand?  It's been nearly 3 months since we sent FPGAs for trade-in and many of us have shareholders and/or leased datacenter/hosting space which adds to the frustration of being left in the dark while most of batch 2 has shipped.

Is it a matter of production capacity?  Issues with large/bulk shipments?

while i agree that the trade ins have been wrongfully neglected, I absolutely disagree that Yifu should be labeled a scammer.  If he was a scammer then he wouldn't be delivering any Avalons at all.  Again, I think you trade in people have been fucked really really hard, but Yifu is no BFL Josh.

Considering that we know Avalon is mining before they ship out to their customers, I wouldn't find it unreasonable to send you a batch 3 Avalon with a cold storage wallet containing X BTC.  I don't know exactly what X should equal, but I'm sure you can come up with a reasonable estimation.  So the question is, what # of BTC would satisfy you?

Make a low assumption - the amount of BTC you would have mined with only the FPGA between the time that you sent it back and today.
Make a high assumption - the amount of BTC you would have mined if you received the batch 2 as early as someone with a non-trade-in confirmed receiving shipment.

It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.

What are you talking about?  Their mining profits are theirs.
Nobody will be returning anything.

If I had to guess,  I'd say the team had split around April/May.
ngzhang left the team.  I cannot imagine them having technical issues with
him on the team.  I'm guessing money and the direction the company
took was the issue.

Are they scammers by business standards? Of course.

By bitcoin mining community standards? No way.
They are geniuses walking on water.

It will be a big loss to team if NG left them. He was not doing it for the money alone. He used to enjoy his work very much. When the joy has gone NG has gone also. He is not posting lately at all and has not been around for at least 3-4 months. I do miss FPGA  times  when he used to reply to posts and mails. I have nothing to ask him though but NG if you happen to read this say hello pls Smiley

Hopefully Yifu can get the band together to finish off their world tour.  The fans are getting restless with the empty stage.
