Hello Guys,

I made all the mistakes possible, but I eventually managed to get one of these R1 from Bitmain China back in my home.
Apparently, it has been  mining on the Antpool in forced solo mode for a bit less than 24 hours, although their web interface is not so clear to me.

I have been reading a lot about this antrouter on the internet. And, of course, this thread on the Bitcoin forum.

Don't feel obliged to answer but...
If you had to convince me to join your pool, what would be your top 3 arguments ?
Keep 2 more in your sleeves, just in case.

Thank you,

Hi vincku, don´t hesitate to spread out your questions, you are welcome Smiley.

You´re  asking for arguments to joining our pool?

It´s hard, but also very easy to explain Wink:

1. like you know, it´s a lotto pool (but note, its not our pool, it´s the ckpool from the legendary developer of cgminer!), so you are able to get the chance to find a block  Wink
2. we provide the api and the gui for it (antrun.de  and gekkorun.de) so you can compare your results with other competitors
3. (and thats even more important): you´re joining a group of enthusiast people around the world, who wants to support, to discuss and discover all about mining and all related topics about it.
4. the most important goal is to having fun and a enriching exchange of ideas with other forum members
5. Thats all  Wink

Don´t forget: If you want to join us, first of all you have to flash the custom firmware to join the pool and our community.

If any questions feel free to ask us..

Cheers,
andY

Thank you andY.

I used CGminer to mine Litecoins 2 years ago.
I actually bought a R1 after I read this thread, because of this fun community.
The Antpool is big enough. I believe in decentralization. I also live in Europe. Why should I be mining for the Chinese ?

Once I flash the firmware, will the R1 still run autonomously ?
From 1 to 10, is it easy to do ?
Can i go back if it does not work ?

As part as my hobby project, I may adding  a U3 unit to my R1 next year, will I still be able to stay in this community ?

Hi vincku,

Quote

yes, you don´t wired only to the antpool, after flashing the CFW, you´r able to choose your prefered pool Smiley.
(After flashing, the R1 works also autonomously of course!)

Quote
Can i go back if it does not work ?
If you decide to fall back to default, it´s very easy.
You only have to press the R1 Reset button, after than it´s factory resetted.

Quote
From 1 to 10, is it easy to do ?
Not sure, what you want to ask Wink? Pls explain Smiley.

Quote

Yes, of course, mate Smiley.
But you should create a separate worker name for your U3, so it´s excluded from our competition , ´cause only R1 or GekkoMiner are permitted in our race.

Cheers,
andY

I made the switch. With the help of a friend. Flashed the firmware. Set up a receiving bitcoin address. Pointed it to de.ckpool.org:3333 stratum. We were not quite sure how to attach a worker name to it. So I just added it in after my receiving address, with a _.
What is the next step to register on Antrun.de ?

I pushed my R1 to 125.00 MHz  Cool and disabled the wifi network to make sure it has enough power. Temperature is still stable at 40 degrees C.

I updated the info on the website. Now checking data to see if I increased my hashrate.  Grin

You could drive an USB powered Flex-Fan, (e.g. Arctic) on the R1´s USB-Port
to cool down your R1 Smiley

guys... since ck is testing the segwit signalling for the pool at port 13333, I think we should support him by changing to that pool temporary pool... once completed, we actually dont need to do anything as he will redirect all miners back to main pool.

extracted from his thread....

".... I've put up a separate pool instance for people brave enough to test it that would prefer to help signal support for segwit for the time being. This will be temporary and comes without any guarantee, even though I've since confirmed I found the bug with the previous code. I'd appreciate it some are brave enough to mine on it instead of the current pool as a show of support. I'm pretty sure you will end up with a block if you find one.

Pool is at
stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:13333

Stats at pool2 version of regular pool
http://solo.ckpool.org/pool2
http://solo.ckpool.org/users2/
http://solo.ckpool.org/workers2/

It is on the same server as the existing solo pool so comes with all the same performance and benefits...."

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...
