RUM AND CARROTS: A PIRATE LIFE FOR ME

pm'd you back  Tongue
Got it. Now I'm waiting for my TRC.  Smiley

TRC = Total Rip-off Coin

I find it so funny how the community is always talking about how Bitcoin is open source and that's what makes it so wonderful. And it's up on github so anyone can fork it and make changes! Wow! Fantastic! The wonders of open source.

But of course, whenever someone does actually fork it and make changes, people freak out. :-)

It reminds me of the Ford Model-T quote: "You can have it in any color you want, as long as it's black."

:-)

TRC is retarded to me because I still don't see any links nor binaries for people to mine it.

No official thread. Just jibber jabber.

 Grin

Well, there is no official thread. The Website is: terracoin.org. Reading through it I get the feeling the forkers (I use that instead of Authors since it's just bitcoin) are not native english speakers, although they write well there are some odd mistakes. So perhaps they just are not very chatty types (or they are in one of the language forums talking away a ton).

That said you can find the fork on Github, and I've been mining for a couple days now. It's just like bitcoin, although a bit faster, but still. Same thing.

Their site is a good read lol....

Looks like tons of premine will be had by the creators. Nothing new...just more parameter changes and premine.

Why do you think there is a premine? So far there are only 3394 Blocks, with 20 coins per block so about  68,000Coins made so far. That's not very much. And the coin was outed basically at it's inception so they haven't been mined in secret before anyone found out about them.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I had a McChicken for lunch.  Now I feel bad.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

You want TRC? I want pizza. Let's make a deal. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=122570.0

Average time between signing on to bitcointalk: Two weeks. Please don't expect responses any faster than that!

I'm responding to a post from November:

I find it so funny how the community is always talking about how Bitcoin is open source and that's what makes it so wonderful. And it's up on github so anyone can fork it and make changes! Wow! Fantastic! The wonders of open source.

But of course, whenever someone does actually fork it and make changes, people freak out. :-)

No kidding.  The open source world as a whole brags about the ability to fork, but when someone actually does that, people get mad.  Or when they are unhappy with a project and can't convince the project owners to go the way they want, and you suggest they fork the project, they start crying how they would never do that, as if you asked them to kill a child or something.

Why is forking a cardinal sin?

Yeah because people take forking as a personal offense! :-)
