Release notes for leonArdo Demo - Paper Trading Terminal

1. Please note that the paper trading edition does its own order matching locally. Your orders are 'blended'
into the market. It behaves as if you had really placed the order on the order book yourself. Of course, if your
simulated orders become a significant amount of the order book, the results will differ from real world experience.

2. In some cases recovery from sleep experiences an issue and halts the markets. A restart of leonArdo will
do the trick. Don't worry you won't lose any data as it's saved locally.

3. On start-up leonArdo matches any outstanding limit orders against the trade history to simulate real world
conditions.

In the active order table we have introduced a progress bar in the amount field so that you know at a glance how much of the order has been filled, and in the chart view you can also see that your order has partially gone through as although some trades (orange triangles) are visible, the order is still there

Just fixed an error on the Mac OS version of leonArdo which caused it to crash when an indicator was removed. This wasn't an issue on Windows or Linux and therefore slipped past us.

I believe 'paper trading' is a terminology among trading community to mention trail basis trading activity. Your tradings are within your paper not into actual execution.

To change the highlight colour you have to first set the drop down menu to custom. Then you can adapt the UI Highlight colour.

If you have the qt libs already installed that might work, but is unlikely.

Heads up leonArdo linux users

We found an issue, which is a known QT bug on linux, that can affect leonArdo.

If the network is lost for a short time and then recovers, leonArdo won't necessarily recover. Restarting leonArdo or reconnecting the network helps, but this is not a possibility if you are not at your machine.

Therefore, to avoid the issue completely, the libqnmbearer.so should be deactivated (this is a qt plugin). Here is the command to do it:

A little teaser for our 3.0 release. Check out leonArdo's visualization of a short position on Poloniex. We estimate the % gain or loss including lending fees, exchange fees, and the cost of buying or selling into the order book. But other than downloading historical data from our servers to make beautiful charts, leonArdo connects directly to the exchange itself. To protect our IP we only hold half of one of your 2 API keys in hashed format.

leonArdo 3.5.0 released

We are delighted to get this release into your hands. It contains some important stability fixes, especially a bug that has plagued the demo market for a while now making it randomly crash after a short time. It includes Huobi, but for those waiting on Kraken, fear not, it should follow very quickly - perhaps in as little as a week. The GUI looks and feels much better throughout. We have also implemented web sockets as a first class feature in leonArdo and will be rolling this out over the next few weeks to other markets. Full details of the release can be found below.

New Features

• Huobi markets (main, pro, new) added
• Added translation layer to enable rapid addition of languages. First up is German, but more languages are in the works!
• Web sockets layer implemented and used in Huobi and OkCoin/OkCoinCNY. Will be added to other markets that support web sockets soon
• Dynamic handling of Bitfinex's new API call limits
• Complete rework of leonArdo’s internal handling of concurrent market actions (more stable and better feedback/logging)
• New icons throughout (including much better support for High-DPI Displays)
• More stable and improved GUI layout
• Initialization progress improved on startup in the status bar. Example "Initializing bittrex [2/5]"
• Improved logging for network related runtime problems

Major bug fixes

• Fixed Demo market bug which could cause leonArdo to crash at random usually within a few hours
• Fixed bug that made closing market/currency tabs susceptible to sometimes crashing
• Login screen layout fixed to ensure fields are displayed correctly on all displays
• Issue fixed that could cause API key pair to become invalid if initially inputed incorrectly

• Fixed amount slider in ping pong strategy to disable it after the strategy starts
• Strategy settings now saved first on shutdown (ensuring that shutdown issues don’t cause strategies not to be saved)
• Starting funds amounts for demo markets optimized
• Fixed wrong labels of ‘walls’ in the order book
• Fixed and issue with the search bar for adding new currency pairs
• Fixed issue that 'resetting’ an option always switched to the first entry of a menu rather than to the default value
• Fixed issues with combobox tooltips that sometimes did not fit into the tooltip area
• Fixed issue that adapting the color settings did not immediately apply to all tables
• Optimized the order of option-tabs in the settings window

Attention
When updating to 3.5.0, settings of saved strategies might be lost. In particular, the resuming of strategies won't be possible.

• Fixed erroneous recent trades on a few currency pairs on Kraken which could have lead to issues with certain strategy settings
• Added automatic setting of the maximum number of open file handles for margin on MacOS and Linux to 4096. This was an important fix that avoids crashes that could have happened before when opening many pairs/markets in parallel (a dialog will be shown before the login window pops up if this setting cannot be performed)
• Fixed double ask whether you want to close margin after clicking the X button
• Fixed minimum trading totals for KuCoin
• Fixed a possible crash when closing a pump/dump detector tool window

• margin now includes Qt WebEngine which allows us to display web content directly in the terminal
    - For the start, we included two "TradingView" based market analysis tools - they are a tool window under the TradingView option
    - In the future, we intend to use this as a basis for integrating more and more web-based tools
• Added a new dynamic layer to handle dynamic and user defined trading fees, including
     -Displaying the current fees in the strategy tab
     -One-click adaption of the trading fees use for a certain market or currency-pair on a market (allows you to choose maker fees on exchanges that have them for example)
     - A new editor available though the settings window to set global fees per exchange
• Added an option to mArgin Maker bot that allows you to specify whether stop-loss can be triggered before actually having bought anything

Introducing the margin Python Strategy Editor!!

We are proud to announce our soon to be released Python Strategy Editor! With it you will have the possibility to write your own trading strategies as well as advanced orders, run them in any of your margin instances and share them with the community. The first version is currently being alpha tested and can be expected in the next non-patch beta-release. This is a big step towards a closer connection with you, our community, as we would like to encourage all of you to take part in keeping margin the best trading tool out there. The first version will come with basic trading features, but we will continue to extend its functionality by giving access to more and more of margin.

The long awaited margin Python Strategy Editor is here!! This was a huge piece of work and we can't wait to see what you guys accomplish with it. You will be able to build your own bots and advanced orders and then share them or even sell them if they are awesome!

This release also contains our new Scalebot strategy. The bot takes advantage of the underlying volatility of the crypto markets and provides protection against exposure with stop loss. Take a look at the tutorial video here.
