OP, in the XFX BIOS, how do you change the memory voltage?
Does the memory voltage change when the frequency change, like the VCore?

ellovp - have you tried 8 x GPU setup.
I am thinking of doing this using 3 to 1 PCI riser on the 6th PCI slot.
That should get the MHs above 200MHs per rig.
Thoughts?
I am going using Claymore Dual miner for this rig.

I haven't tried with my nano's, i have tried to use a pci hub/splitter in the past, i still have 2 of them though. Maybe i'll play with them again sooner or later. But like it is now, 6 per rig is more than enough + i would need an extra PSU.. nahh i'm fine like this :p I have EVGA 1600w G2, and I will work on the 8 x GPU version (246MH/s rig!!!) - I will post results soon. I am still waiting for DHL to knock on my door... I don't think you'll have enough PCI power connectors to connect all 8 Gpu's.... "could be wrong though.." Anyhow, even if you do, the psu won't be able to bring enough power to all those rails. "again, could be wrong.." I tried latest driver 16.5.2, still the same behavior. May I know which driver are you using?
Try to boot with only 1 nano connected to your mobo and see what that gives you You may right on the number of VGA cables, I need to check the PSU later tonight otherwise this 8 GPU monster even using the mod will need 2 x PSUs because of lack of cables points.

i change it by adding the vddc and mvddc offset in the rom, this because it's standard not there. Same goes for Fiji, VDDC and MVDDC offset are not standard in the rom, i had to add those myself. The voltage changes when the frequency changes yes. In other words, that voltage is reduced from every DPM state. Unlike changing every DPM state manually, the voltage controller does this automatically in my case You may right on the number of VGA cables, I need to check the PSU later tonight otherwise this 8 GPU monster even using the mod will need 2 x PSUs because of lack of cables points.
You mean PCI power cables right? You'll probably need 2 PSU's yes

Kind of like vddc but different. I don't know how much that is though. Example: BIOS PowerPlay State #0: - Level #0: GPUClock = 1040 MHz, MemClock = 1500 MHz, VID = 4.098 V (Boot) BIOS PowerPlay State #1: - Level #0: GPUClock = 300 MHz, MemClock = 150 MHz, VID = 0.256 V - Level #1: GPUClock = 1040 MHz, MemClock = 1500 MHz, VID = 4.098 V

Yeah that's from the sapphire 390 nitro card. I'm not sure, haven't really checked that out yet. Took a registerdump and ic2dump to see what i'm dealing with but haven't had the time yet to see if i'm able to add the offsets for vddc and mvddc as they're not in the rom. Kind of like the fiji roms. Have to check if i can modify that, but i think so. Will report back later regarding that.

As we all know, the R9 Nano is one of the most energy efficient GPU's out there at this moment.
In the past months i've done numerous of tests on how to get this card as stable and as power efficient as possible.
I've been thinking about sharing my results and tests and came to the conclusion to keep it short and as helpful as possible for every Nano owner out there.
I modded my Sapphire Nano rom (with A LOT of help from Gupsterg) to the point that it almost dropped 50% in power usage at the same speed
And i would like to share that.
Please be careful. (you have a secondary bios switch, so you can always switch back)
For all the *nix users out there. This might be very interesting for you guys because i know what a hassle it is to change voltage in linux. Yeah.. not...
Also, if you want to flash in Linux, that isn't possible right now. You'll need Windows. (And not a bootable version! Won't work on Fiji..)

I'm wondering how difficult is it to create a Nano rom with -120mV core voltage? With memory voltage at -175mV. Fiji bios editor doesn't have the option to change voltage I think. Have to edit the the rom through hex editor? I think my Nano is pretty stable at -120mV core voltage.

Okay...mission failed. Successfully created rom with -125mV core voltage but upon starting mining, GPU crashed. However, if I only reduce the voltage in the midst of mining, then it works fine. I'm guessing the starting voltage is too low perhaps. I'm still trying to figure out how to reduce just the DPM7 voltage instead of a generic negative offset to all DPM. Any pointer, Eliovp?

Hey mate, Yeah, i had the same problems (booting issues), that's why i don't have any roms with lower core voltage than 100mV. when boot is done, you can still lower it with ab or trixx.. so that is what i do Open Fiji editor and give the DPM's a fixed state. That'll work just fine as well. It's a little more difficult because the controller won't be auto calculating those voltages anymore and will just use what you stated. So in some cases it won't be enough. Good luck!
