I look back at the comments from last year everyone had a negative view on ETH but now those people must regret what they underestimate about it. And even this time there are still some people who are skeptical of what it can bring in the future.
And again fear will take away what you have received

it's ideal to hold eth too. it's selling price is high, tho it's a gamble.
i'm saying this because i'm holding both ETH and BTC

yup, I am still holding my eth and I am waiting the price. I think eth is still good altcoin among the others but the price is really expensive to buy, fortunately I've buy eth from lower price so I can sell in whatever price but I am still waiting high price. once again, I am sure eth will getting up and reach highest price like btc.

As long as ethereum is doing well then this could would have a space in my investment portfolio. I have made decent profit thru buying and selling eth on trading sites for months so despite of all the hacking issues popping out about etherium I won't leave it unless it becomes useless for me.

ETH is the most traded coin after bitcoin and 2nd largest coin in terms of market cap. This is the best time as well considering the price and the potential to grow further is huge. So keep buying small qty at dips and it will provide good returns in another year.

If investment in long term, Ethereum is good choice after Bitcoin in my list. But in short time in current, maybe the price of Ethereum will get some falldown time or flash crash can make the price rollback to 0.05. It just my guess when use analysic mentality of trader on market.

Hi everyone, I've been around for a while now.. 
I've seen a lot of posts positive and negative about Ethereum.

At the moment I am holding Bitcoins, but I have invested in some Ether as well.

Now I am wondering, what are legitimate concerns about Ether (except for IPO, as I've already read this in a lot of posts).

So can anyone bring real other issues to the table, to enlighten me (and maybe a lot of other readers?)

It does not matter if you've invested in Ethereum. As we know Ethereum is another alternative coin than bitcoin. Ethereum is a good prospect for the long term, as there are already many new projects that work with Ethereum or using smart token Ethereum.
For negative news about ethereum it's just the way it's done to bring down Ethereum, we'll see how high the Ethereum price will be next year.

It is a good altcoin but you need to stay from it as long as the security of that coin is fixed or improved because there is a lot of cases for ethereum that it is experiencing hacking so it is a huge risk to invest your money with that coin because the price can go very low if the hacking continues.

yes it's true, hacking indeed very scary and He does not care. I'm also afraid the hackers will ruin the market price so that the investors leave this Ethereum.

Of course the question in the OP was asked last year when Bitcoin had over 90 percent dominance of the coin market. Ethereum as it stands today has really gained momentum and stands next to bitcoin in trade volume and capitalization. Though it isn't the second in price. However, it still remains a coin I won't advise anyone to hold right now. It lacks security features and has had several hacks lately with holders losing huge funds. Stay away from Ethereum!

I agree obviously ethereum is actually the second best cryptocurrency on the market. Technically it is been brought by the development of the internet or the technology itself because just like Bitcoin is totally follows the principle of law of price and demand. Waves is going to start to compete with Ethereum. As you notice day by day more ICO prefers waves than ethereum. I am not sure this situation has already started to affect prices but I am sure it will.

It's kind of dangerous to call Ethereum a "competitor" of bitcoin because their purposes are different, so being number one or two doesn't make that difference. About Waves I think the future is a bit uncertain, but yeah the project is growing fine and we can see some good projects running on it already.

ETH would always remain a good investment but for long-term, not short-term. In short-term, we might even see 0.05 BTC price of ETH once again but in long term, it'd definitely rival bitcoin as well.
