Ethereum: Good alt or stay away?

For me, eth is a good altcoin. I think it is the most promising altcoin of all time. Also, eth has higher value than other altcoin. Eth is bitcoin's rival so I am sure that it has a good value. If I were you I will try it because it might be the one that will make you rich.

Hi everyone, I've been around for a while now.. 
I've seen a lot of posts positive and negative about Ethereum.

At the moment I am holding Bitcoins, but I have invested in some Ether as well.

Now I am wondering, what are legitimate concerns about Ether (except for IPO, as I've already read this in a lot of posts).

So can anyone bring real other issues to the table, to enlighten me (and maybe a lot of other readers?)

In my opinion it is a good altcoin for investment. Correct me if I'm wrong, the market cap of Etherium is more than half of Bitcoin. It is still on its level of growing. Also, it has a larger community compared to other altcoins which makes its market price higher as time passes by. Dipping is normal, it happens it normally happens in cryptocurrencies. And as everyone is saying  ETH is next to Bitcoin in terms of the ranks of cryptocurrency based on its users.

For now, Ethereum will be trying crawl up after the price dropped dramatically. This proves that Ethereum is the best altcoin.  Decent coins holding and invested.

Ethereum is the best all time altcoin for 1 year no one can compete with Ethereum. Ethereum is very sturdy because it has a very sophisticated and popular  Smart Contract platform.

Much better if you will observe and make a research for yourself to know if it is a good alt or not. But for me, Etherium is a good altcoin for investment since it is commonky used in ICOs. Also, it is still growing in all aspects, proof is that it is next to Bitcoin in terms of popularity, and size of communitybwhich is importnat on investing into a cryptocurrency including alt coin.

Well, Ethereum has shown now that it is capable of climbing back up to its ATH, but at the same time Bitcoin is making new ATHs. The last time ETh was almost $400 BTC had made $2500. But this is a sign that it does not just have to rely on ICO and Ethereum tokens, and both coins can coexist. There has to be a new ATH for ETH now, though.

Indeed, Ethereum and ICO market will grow many much in future. We also see ICO market become to hot trend of investor on cryptocurrency market in recent. If ICO market can become to famous, Ethereum price will increase because many people need Ethereum for buy ICO token.

What happens to Ethereum when the SEC cracks down on ICOs or heavily regulates them?
What happens to Ethereum when the Chinese government cracks down on ICOs (as they already have announced)?
What happens to Ethereum if a scenario like the DAO happens again and Ethereum splits into two projects again?
...

I wouldn´t be so sure that the ICO market can prosper, if the major governments in the world finally act on this.

They continue to innovate and improve. Also, as an additional reasons to hold  because it has many tokens under its platform.

I will buy an altcoin when it have rumor about scam, die soon, bad news, go the hell ... this is my strategy in last year when the price of Ethereum drop down to $6 per coin. Although, in that time I did not have much money for buy Ethereum and patience for wait it increase to high price like today, but profit x2 very easy.

Those kind of indications or behavior is really very risky but you are lucky enough that ETH go into opposite way on which most people do make fud about this coin back to the years when it was just starting.I can say that this a good alt and seeing on its smart contracts i would say that this coin do really have the potential to be used on real world usage and seeing on most ICOs they are almost using Eth platform.

Yes he is a very lucky guy, so ETH grows up in the opposite direction and he made good pfoit. when it was below $15 even I also bought few coins but when it crossed $250 the first time I sold my coins. I never thought that ETH price will cross $350 margin in just a few months. Now i will do more research on any new coins before selling that coin.

For ne it is a good altcoin perhaps it is the most successful altcoins this year if bitcoin cadh is not considered ad an altcoins but among all the considered as altcoins,  ethereum gets the top spot when it becomes to price. And a lot of people loves it because it have a lot of potential, I can see that they getting successful just like what bitcoins are before but fo me they cannot surpass bitcoins because bitcoins is the pioneer and the most successful cryptos. But when talking about altcoins probably ethereum it a big name.

Yes there was a 200$ correction happened in btc some time ago but it has started to rise again. Due to which the ETH price may have fallen . Certainly I think you actually got it luck with the price dropping you were able to buy it and again its on rise. You should be able to make some quick gains in short term and long term holding ETH is seems to be very profitable as after btc it is the largest coin in terms of market cap.
