Is there anything we should tell Polo in order to get our share of the airdrops?
Nothing : it's before the snapshot to ask to Polo, not after.

I put in my btc address, what is the next step?

it then gives you a message that you need to sign with your bitcoin wallet. put the stellar message into the sign message section of your wallet. your wallet then provides another message. paste that into the stellar website and you get your lumens nearly instantly.

That's the problem - there is no message, or I don't see it

The problem is that your P2SH  but not P2PKH address was snapshotted. So, the system  required to put the redeem script relevant to captured P2SH addr instead of signed message that would be in the case of P2PKH

Update: I have now received the Lumens for the Ripple I have. 1 Lumen for each 10 XRP.
So if you are claiming in the Ripple-Lumen Program you will perhaps have to wait a few days before you see your Stellar balance increase.

Anyone tried to claim Lumens for Ripple?

I followed this procedure to claim Lumens for my XRP:

  • Authenticate with Facebook.
  • Enter your Stellar public key or generate a new one.
  • Send a small amount of XRP (even 1 drop is OK) to the provided Ripple address with a displayed destination tag. Please note that we will not be able to send your XRP back!
  • After receiving a payment to the provided Ripple address, lumens will be sent to your Stellar account.

I got confirmations that the 0.000001 XRP* I sent from each Ripple address went to the supplied Destination Address. I remembered to add the DT (Destination Tag).

I am still waiting to see any Lumens show up in my Stellar balance.
How long is it expected to take with Ripple claims? I noticed that the Bitcoin claims were instantaneous.

* The recommended amount displayed in the form at the Stellar claim link.

Is there anything we should tell Polo in order to get our share of the airdrops?
Nothing : it's before the snapshot to ask to Polo, not after.

FYI, Polo was listed as participating on Stellar's airdrop page. Then AFTER the airdrop they claimed they never agreed to participate. Some of us spent an awful lot of time and lost out on hundreds of dollars worth from loans and in fees moving funds and so on, to get our BTC to Polo for the airdrop.

ZenFr, be sure to raise a support ticket with Polo and keep pushing the issue so they can't just wish it away. Even if Stellar is basically at fault Polo did us a disservice by ignoring the fact that they were very publicly listed for months on the Stellar page and didn't bother challenging it until after everything sent their money in to them.

I've suggested on Reddit that Polo should create an API setting that allows a 3rd party you share an API key with to see your account holdings over time (but no other information/rights). That way Stellar could directly send STR to those of us with claims, and in the future any other airdrops could use this API without needing to bother Polo staff with support requests for their airdrops. So I'm hopeful they will see the value in that idea.

I sent some Stellar to Polo 60 minutes ago, still nothing pending. Anyone have an idea of deposit times? Yes I included the memo.ID too Smiley
Sent Stellar to Polo without problem : less 1 hour waiting.

Less than 1 hour waiting...Well it should be instantaneous with Stellar...

May be poloniex updating stellar manually after see  memo tag. But it's not good for exchange like poloniex.

Did you used memo taged before sending to bittrex. You need to copy memo from bittrex and post that in xlm wallet. So bittrex will recognize it was you who sent XLM.

Are the addresses that we sign to get Stellar Lumens are they public or private?

Only Stellar devs know which address is linked or is it like Byteball and its public?

Thanks for your efforts ebliever!  I wish there would be an official update on this, including why Stellar thought Poloniex had agreed to support the airdrop.

i did not.

i only noticed it after the fact - it was stated as 'optional'

are the txid and addresses irrelevant? or is this at exchanges discretion?

With current prices? Definitely. Alts are ready for a next bull run and Stellar is going to be one of the big names.

That won't work, as Polo can claim Stellar Lumens on their won, from the user's Bitcoins they control. If Polo claims and the customer claims it too, they can claim twice on the same Bitcoin.

Why would you deposit to Polo for something you can claim on your own? By now it should be a default-setting to trust exchanges with as little as possible to use their services.

XLM recent price history:
$0.002669 6 months ago
$0.003074 3 months ago
$0.006557 2 months ago
$0.054149 1.5 months ago
$0.039088 1 month ago
$0.027556 now (data from coinmarketcap)
It's 10 times higher than just half a year ago. Many altcoins went up even more. I wouldn't dare make a claim what is going to happen. I am holding my Lumens though.
