Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

actually i got these from bitcoinget.com

when i needed an address, i just hit up http://bitaddress.org and noted the keys.

but for some stupid reason, i miscalculated the payout from bitcoinget and thought i'd receive 10x this amount.

the amount is perhaps too small for people to bother sweeping?

or maybe newbies just don't know how to do it without a fee...

or, maybe i need to explicitly state FREE BITCOINS!!!1111!111  before all these honest folk will grab them.

Either you typed the private key wrong, or someone already claimed it, and it's not being updated on blockchain

i never typed it. only copy+paste from bitaddress.org

and now, when i copy the key from this forum thread and paste into bitaddress.org, the correct bitcoin address pops up.

my suspicion is simply that the value is too low to be swept into another address.
