Hello people,
I've RX470 cards.
I'm trying to use the AMD blockchain driver to deal with DAG file issue that we are having.
But MSI afterburner does not respond to it and I can't overclock the cards. I've used the afterburner beta and applied the fixes, but still no respond.
Here my steps:
Fully updated win10. I removed the old driver with AMD clean uninstaller > Reboot > Installed the blockchain driver. > Since the I've edited the card's BIOS, I used the driver patcher BEFORE rebooting the system, All options are found, patch done. > Reboot. > And after system comes up, Card is good, but Afterburner Beta still can't overclock it.

I tried to overclock with the Claymore itself, which may I add, is pretty easy and effective, but the problem I get is, that I can only overclock the GPU 0. 6 next cards (I have 7 cards on the rig) won't get the settings. I used the code like this:
" -cclock 1100 -mclock 2050"
or
"-cclock 1100,1100,1100,1100,1100,1100,1100 -mclock 2050,2050,2050,2050,2050,2050,2050" (Or different values)
And no results. I only can overclock GPU0.

I could use some help. I really need to overclock these cards.
With current price and difficulty, I'm starting to get hurt.

I have never gotten Afterburner to work with any of my AMD cards and I spent a LOT of time on the problem.

I can include the DAG recreation time for ETH epoch into devfee time so every hour you will get about 15 seconds of mining more.

That would be a very fair move of you! Smiley
Till now it resets the dev fee timer due to DAG recreation.

So you tried holding both DAG in memory? Is this a very hard thing to program? Otherwise this could get optional for devices with more than 4 gb RAM. So to say it would be without warranty an just to play with it. Maybe it is more stable than you think. Would save time where there is no mining. Good for you and good for us. Smiley

But not resetting the dev fee timer would be good as well. I just don't like the cards to drop out of full load to cool down a bit and than get hot aggain. Just the same temperature and load is the best I (personally) think.

I agree this would be a fair move and a good compromise. With ETH mining becoming more and more competitive many of us are turning to other coins to mine. With the DAG recreation delay, the 1% fee often turns into 2-3% lost revenue as the biggest loss in mining time is because of the switch to a new DAG and back every time the DEV fee kicks in.

Another idea is maybe a longer DEV mining period but less often, say once every 2 hours instead of once per hour. I know it is a balance between earning a fair fee and trying to minimize those who use tricks (miner restarts) to avoid paying it, but this would also help out with the interruptions.

Yeah the DAG switching issue is annoying, it's small but still is lost time.  It's worse the more cards you have in a rig.

It's necessary to decrease the Power Limit on AB? I have for now:
Voltage: -96mV
Power Limit: 0
Cclock: 1150
Mclock: 2112
Fan: auto

GPUz shows ~105w (RX 480 Nitro Plus 8GB)

EDIT: today the miner restars and when I OC again and restart Claymore I noticed that I lose ~1 MH/s, somebody had noticed it?

Is anyone running GTX 1070s and experiencing wild variations in hash rates second by second?  Full speed hash rate is just over 30 Mh/s but I'm seeing it swing between 19, 24, and 30 continuously.  It was more stable before, not sure what changed.  It's only 51C so it's not throttling due to temperature.

Quote from: kkourmousis
I didn't get the chance to set original ROM but I did remove overclock. Not only it didn't help but it got worse! In fact, while I was trying different OC settings I noticed that the lower I was setting my clocks, the more unstable my rig became.

My rig usually freezes after a GPU hangs or after a share gets rejected. The clocks I am using and the ROM I am using have been stable for months now with previous drivers and miner version

One more thing I have noticed is that after a rig restart (following a freeze) the miner starts, the clocks and voltages are being set normally but I get~ 3.5% less performance than usual. Once I restart the miner it gets back at 100%. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Me. And I have to completly shutdown the computer (PSU switch) for that to stop happening.
Also, I've set the default rom, just for testing, without any OC. I still get invalid shares on ethereum and a warning to check my overclock. (eu1.ethermine.org)

In case anyone is having the issue with rx500 series gpu's that can't reduce voltage below +/-0.9v, that is caused by the VRAM voltage. So if you have your vram at 2000mhz @ 1v, your core won't go any lower than 1v (under load, it drops a little). Because the default vram voltage on my sapphire rx580 4gb pulse is 950mv, the lowest possible voltage is 950mv. So, I did this:

-Download OverdriveNTool from guru3d foruns.
-Disable ALL P-States on memory and core except the higher state. (to disable click on P0, P1, P2,...)
-Set your gpu clock frequency and desired voltage on the last P state (P7). My example: 1250MHZ @ 900mv
-Set your ram clock frequency and the same voltage as your gpu on last P state (P2). My example: 2050mhz @ 900mv
-Save and give a name to that profile. My example: "2050"
-Now put overdriveNtool on the same folder as your "start.bat".
-Edit your .bat file and remove all overclock options from the claymore miner and add this before starting the miner:
Code:
OverdriveNTool.exe -r0 -r1 -r2 -r3 -r4 -p0"0" -p1"2050" -p2"2050" -p3"2050" -p4"2050"
timeout 5
That will reset the cards, apply the profile named "2050" to gpu0+1+2+3+4 and wait 5 seconds before starting claymore.
Enjoy your lower power consuption. Make sure that you tweak the dcri value if you change your gpu clock. Higher clock = higher dcri

TigTex,
Thanks for posting this.  This has solved a lot of my problems and I am finally able to starting switching rigs over to the blockchain driver.  I was really struggling.  I think trying to use AB and claymore commands together was messy and a lot of my rigs are suffering because of it.  This solution seems to work for now.  I will test overnight.
Thanks Again.

Question for anyone.....what is a good GPU-Z power draw per card for a MSI RX580 4gb gaming for Eth only or ETH+ LBR dual?  How about a RX570?  Just looking for a rough target.  I have 85 for ETH and 107 for dual mine on RX580 now.  I will measure at the wall when I switch back to 110v plug.

8GB.  90% power limit, +500 memory OC, -100 core underclock.  I've been running with these settings for almost two months but suddenly in the last day or so it's thrashing the hash rate.  Tried multiple miners (NiceHash and Claymore 10) and both do the same thing.  I'll reboot tomorrow when I have time to monitor it.

8 is the default, right?  I'll try lowering it tomorrow and see what happens.

Not only it doesn't apply the changes now, it's even has the cards memory and core at 30Mhz! It even doesn't go up to the default 1250 160 anymore...!

Due to the changes AMD made starting with the 17.7.2 drivers, you need to use the latest Afterburner beta build, not the one listed on the main download page. Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 16 works fine in Windows 10 with the AMD blokchain drivers.

https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/rtss-6-7-0-beta-1.412822/page-32#post-5459908

The next Afterburner build that is released will have a lot of changes.

Is it somehow possible to turn of dual mining for specific GPUs?
I tried with setting -dcri 0,30 but it still mines with the first GPU. I want to just dual mine with the second GPU. Is this possible?

one easy solution would be create 2 bat files, for 2 cards, 1 with single and 1 with dual mining, and choose card with -di

Yes
After you start your  miner press 0 twice
the first time it will disable your first gpu
the second time it will re enable it for eth only
A third press will enable dual mining on it again

can somone ping the author and ask him to implement voltages slider for memory
and also allow voltage lower than neg 100, similar to wattman.  Ab would be perfect with. this

hello AGAIN miners, i still have the same problem

i am trying to dual mine Eth+Sia with Claymore's Dual v10 without any overclock and i use blockchain driver for my 3xAMD vega cards.
Everything works ok for eth BUT i am getting error message for sia coins.

SC: Received error: {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":4,"error":{"code":-32700,"message":"target-miss"}}

Screenshot--> https://ibb.co/gOjVPF

the config.txt is "empty, disabled" (there are "#" infront of all lines)

now i run this for the miner.bat (i hide the last digits with "***" for the post):
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

i have 2 files for the pools dpool.txt & epools.txt inside the claymores folder

dpools.txt :
POOL: stratum+tcp://sia-eu2.nanopool.org:7777, WALLET: c3a5c75f6a0d1652edaa433fdef511de347634daf8bf3fc0820b3bc5ec8f5fdcd0c***/Andro***/***ctory@hotmail.com, PSW: x, WORKER: , ESM: 0, ALLPOOLS: 0

i can see my ETH stats at eth.nanopool.org but for SIA COINS i cannot see anything at sia.nanopool.org

i am sure that i am not the first one had this issue..
how can i solve this problem?

Dear Claymore,

sorry if this is a repeated question (already 831 pages difficult to read all)  Grin

This version of your software is for dual mining (having ETH as the base coin). These are the options we can mine using it:
Ethereum
Ethereum + Decred
Ethereum + Siacoin
Ethereum + Lbry
Ethereum + Pascal

Do you have other software specific to mine only one coin (that is none of the above)?

For example I would like to use your software to mine EXP, UBQ or other coins. Can I use it? How?
