Sadly, no joy for me. With an OC that was working before, I get BSODs after about 12 minutes of mining. The same setup runs fine with Phoenix miner.

I used to use afterburner to undervolt on blockchain driver.  Recently I updated to 18.2 drivers and now use overdriventool.  The only problem is that I can't undervolt the Asus rog strix rx570s.  Overdrive accepts the voltage and applies it.  But HWinfo shows a higher voltage.  No matter what I set the voltage to in overdrive or claymore command line, HWinfo always shows the same voltage for the rog rx570s.

Voltage control is fine on msi rx570 and on all 580s.

Any ideas?  Any other software that can apply a voltage offset like afterburner does?

sometimes OC doesnt work when you don't have a monitor (or fake monitor plug) plugged into one of the cards.

Thanks.  The memory overclock works, it's just the voltage that isn't working.

Hi guys,
I understant you are mainly windows users of Claymore, but all my rigs are on LINUX (ubuntu 14 and 16), and for me the 11.6 update does not work at all. With everything else being the same, all I get is :
"
ͻ
                Claymore's Dual GPU Miner - v11.6
              ETH + DCR/SIA/LBC/PASC/BLAKE2S/KECCAK
ͼ

ETH: 5 pools are specified
Main Ethereum pool is eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999
Cannot load OpenCL library, AMD cards will be unavailable
No NVIDIA CUDA GPUs detected.
No AMD OPENCL or NVIDIA CUDA GPUs found, exit
"
Previously Claymore 11.5 was working perfectly fine, I never had to install OpenCL library... And I have the same error for my AMD and NVIDIA rigs... guesse I will stay with 11.5 for long now.

Newer Claymore versions are compiled against a GCC library that doesn't normally exist on Ubuntu 14.x and can be a major pain to GET installed (Canonical doesn't support it directly, you have to get "fancy" with Debian package management or install source and compile it).
If you are using older cards with the fglrx driver, you have to stick with 14.04.03 (or 14.04.04/05 IF you downgrade the Xserver to the version 14.04.03 used) due to incompatability with fglrx.

16.04 and later you HAVE to use the AMDGPU driver stack, which has limited support for older cards at all and doesn't "officially" support power limit control or undervolting AT ALL even on Polaris/Vega cards (and forget about clock control on R9 series cards as it DOES NOT WORK).

Claymore needs to FIX his "recommended drivers" as the 15.12 Catalyst drivers aren't supported any more under LINUX, never did work with Polaris cards (too outdated).
I also fail to understand why he recommends 16.12 at ALL as that version DID NOT SUPPORT BIOS MODDED CARDS AT ALL (16.9.2 would be a MUCH better option for Windows 7, blockchain or very recent versions for Windows 10).
Thanks QuintLeo, your help is much appreciated ! I have 2 small rigs with old AMD cards (biosModded) especially configured on Ubuntu 14.04.03 exactly as you said (works very well, no updates), I think I will stay for the moment with Claymore11.5. Since these are only 3Gb cards, they will be done with mining Etherum very soon, so I will not go to all the trouble of another ubuntu install... I found Ubuntu 16 to be less well maintained than 14, I had tons of config problems with it, since then I have started to move to other more stable distributions. Anyway thanks very much for the help.

v11.6:

- improved hashrate for weak Nvidia cards by about 1%.
- zero devfee for 3GB cards in Windows 10, same as for all 2GB cards.
- applied some tricks to increase available memory for 3GB cards in Windows 10 so you can mine ETH a bit longer.
- now you can press "y" key to turn on "Compute Mode" in AMD drivers for all cards (Windows only).
- Linux version: removed openssl library dependency.
- improved "-logfile" option, now you can use it to specify a folder for log files, use slash at the end to do it, for example, "-logfile logs\".
- added "-epoolsfile" and "-dpoolsfile" options.
- remote management: now "miner_getstat2" command also returns PCI bus index for every GPU.
- a few minor bug fixes and improvements.

Thanks Claymore, for bringing life back to 3GB cards, worked right off the bat!

+1, I can mine Eth on 1060 3GB cards in W10 only with Claymore, all other miners fail now. Also 0% developer fee Cool

I use Claymore's 9.8, no problem,always 89MHs stable
But  3 months ago I got 0,2 ETH in 18 days, now I get 0,2 ETH in 35 days

Soon it will not worth it, am I wrong something?

It is very likely that Etherium will get a fork to disable hardware ASICs. There was a poll and more than 57% support it!

I change xvg pool to nlpool. I was using antminepool for second coin I am now getting 30% more coins on nlpool. Anyone using antminepool or others I would say try nlpool. Despite there small share of hashrate I get better payout

Is it worth upgrading to 11.6?

I'm currently on 11.2 and my 8-card Rx580 is getting 242Mh eth-only and 241Mh dual-mining XVG.

I build and sell rigs! I also sell ssd clones of the most stable Windows+Claymore+AMD driver combo you'd ever used.

I apologize, I am newbie here.  I read and follow all the directions.
I am experience problems with 2 of my PCs, using Claymore Miner 11.6
I have a Nvidia Card.

First PC:  Windows 7 pro 64-bit
I got error message that "DCR: 0 pool specificed.
No AMD or Nvidia card found ..

2nd PC:  Windows 10 pro 64-bit
This app cannot run on this PC.

I am testing on my older PC, I know it is not efficient.  I want to get to know at least the setup first.

any suggestion would be appreciated.

you are not alone and dropping in eth output is due to surge in total hashrate in the global network and doubling difficulty.
I suspect bitmain and other asic makers already mined eth w/ their large scale ASIC in house for awhile.
nvidia has 10% Q4 over Q3 revenue increase.
we know AMD financially always lags regardless of how others are prosperous in the past 40 years.
the global hashrate has increased 45% in the same period. a lot new gpus also mine other coins. asic has contributed to some of the surge under the radar.
by the time eth mining becomes less profitable, bitmain will sell asic to public to double their profit.
This is bitmain's true business model:
develop asic and mine in house at lower network hashrate. get enough profit from mining and sell old less profitable asic model to public at premium price to at least double the profit, at the same time flood the global network so the only rig can be very profitable is their own next generation high efficient in house asic model. Repeat! At the same time, they may also manipulated the coin price at bit because they have mined so much.
Will PoS kill bitmain? not really. it certainly will affect their asic business. but with $4b profit in 2017, they already developed tensor AI process in house and prepared life after asic.
After mining for awhile, I realized this: in Macro Perspective: only the large scale mining farm and people will deep pocket and power will be benefited in long run. The small fish like us will see some quick cash in the beginning, but those things will be gone regardless of whether crypto crashes or not.

From what I saw, the ETH ASIC is only 4% more powerful than RX 580 gpus So I wouldn't worry much about difficulty increase. The target group is newcomers, I doubt anyone with a running mining rig will sell his rig to buy a 4% faster ASIC.

The thing to worry about is resellability of gpus, since the ASIC is up to 75% cheaper than building an equivalent gpu mining rig

Maybe ignorant question, but how are the ASICs going to work? I thought the whole point of DAGs was to prevent ASICs. How do the ASICs fit the DAG file on their chips affordably?

Does anyone have random disconnects from ethermine?

I noticed that some miners appear offline on the pools side but when i log in i see they are submitting shares, only thing I noticed that the latency doubled (from 60 to 120ms in my case). Using 11.5 version previously 10.6 never had this...

Can someone point me for what to look in a claymor log file maybe i missed something.

Its not actually an ASIC, its FPGA board

Search this pattern in log
ETH: Stratum - Failed to connect, retry

Also ethermine's new UI might highlight rig that's offline in red if they don't get any update within 20 minutes. Most of them are false alarm. That's normal, nothing to worry as long as ethermine gets the update in the next round.

Just checked, i don't have this pattern, the strange thing is that submitted shares seem to be in order. According to ethermine one miner was down for 5 hours (and appeared at one point before going offline once more)

I think this could be related to dev fee switching (i see claymor sometime uses SSL conection sometimes just a regular)

Been on v11.4 for a few weeks now and it's been very stable with very little stale shares, will try out the newest v11.6 soon. Cool

The attack on Verge XVG coin does not look good. Where are we going now? What currency do we go to for dual mining?

Blake2s Neva, Taj, Info, Shield?
Keccak smartcash?

is any XVG pool online?  Shocked
when we can continue to mine in dual XVG?

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

XVG are with problems since yesterday, it is speculating with a possible verge fork, there is no official information from dev team of what is happening, only, they are working on it, nothing more.

Maybe it's time to give an opportunity to other currencies with dual mining.

Dual mining stopped being profitable more than a month ago. Run your cards on solo mining and save yourself the electric bill.
