**QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT**

As you know yesterday (April 12th) was the technical birthday of the Espers project. To celebrate this I've decided to do things a little differently this year and combine our project's birthday celebration with an Easter event as we haven't celebrated Easter before and I think it would be a great way to engage with you all here in the community and to bring others in who might be interested in receiving some unique NFTs and piloting prototype features before they are released in the next set of updates.

So this year I've create a special Easter egg hunt with unique rewards for users. The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs that will be able to be redeemed for virtual prizes, including NFTs, from both Espers and other participating partnered projects (To showcase cross-chain functionality).

The top three winners who find the most eggs will each receive a unique NFT rewards from Espers, while all participants will receive a special prize for taking part in the event. The prizes will include special, exclusive, and/or rare NFTs besides common ones that users will typically find during the event. So get ready to hunt for those eggs and have a lot of fun this year!

**Quick details of Event:**
- Event starts April 16th and ends  April 30th

📢Thank you so much for your patience as it was crucial for our latest upcoming update, and we are delighted to share some of these exciting updates and milestones regarding the Espers project.

Extensive Upgrades to Proof-Of-Stake Systems:
The Proof-Of-Stake (PoS) staking logic systems have been overhauled, focusing on improving security, efficiency, and user experience. The Espers team has meticulously rewritten the staking logic, ensuring that premature block staking during the syncing process can no longer occur which removes the possibility of forks from the user's client itself while staking and syncing. This upgrade guarantees smoother synchronization and a more reliable network. This is NOT PosV4, but this will discussed in future updates as it is a planned overhaul as well.

Streamlined Blockchain Peer Handling:
We understand the importance of maintaining a robust and resilient network, and we have made significant strides in optimizing our blockchain peer handling mechanisms. A noteworthy addition is the introduction of a "request to merge" feature. This innovative functionality empowers us to address improper block submissions from offending wallets/clients promptly. By requesting these wallets to realign their blockchain with the main net's, we enhance the overall integrity of our network. If these peers fail to realign then they are removed from the network.

ADA Cardano Bridge Update:
We are thrilled to announce that the ADA Cardano bridge is currently undergoing private testing. First we are ensuring its seamless integration with our platform. Once development wraps up, we will transition to a public beta phase. This bridge will enable cross-chain interfacing between our platform and the Cardano blockchain, opening up new possibilities for collaboration and expanding our ecosystem.

Resolution of Elongated Blocks:
In the upcoming mandatory update, we will address the issue of elongated blocks. By upgrading our VRX retarget logic from version 3.5 to 3.7, we are implementing a more reliable and efficient block output mechanism. Stay tuned for more details as we release further information on this significant update.

Mac Wallet/Client Release:
With the upcoming major release we will be launching the Mac Wallet/Client once again. It's exciting to be able to offer this once more to our community and we look forward to future releases also being available for MacOS. We are committed to ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for all our community members.

**Espers wallet update! (New release)**

We are very excited to announce the new Espers [ESP] wallet/client v0.8.8.7 is now officially released! This is HUGE upgrade to 0.8.8.6 so don't let the version numbers deceive you! If you would like to read the entire list of changes please just visit the release link provided below and check out the "Changelog" in the release comments. Pretty much fixes all the problems users have been having and then some!

**Changes:**
- Cleaned up linking in velocity and miner files
- Added "demireorgtype" as a configurable variable allowing users to allow/deny Demi-node only network reorganization (If enabled allows "shallow" reorganize requests from standard peers to be allowed)
- Version bump
- Updated copyrights to 2024
- Updated sync selection logic
- Updated Demi-node feature
- Added Demi-sync functions
- Removed debug log spam
- Updated net files with public pnodeSync select/setting as apposed to segregated settings
- Updated documentation to reflect recent updates
- Fixed graphics issue on coin sending page that made "send amount" invisible
- Updated the SettingsPage lock/unlock status trigger and toggle mechanism. (Fixes lock/unlock not being displayed correctly on the SettingsPage in previous versions)

We are ending Alpha phase and just about ready to transition to Beta phase of development. What I mean is simply over the next few months there will be large feature rollouts in regards to fractal data storage and the site on chain proof of concept.

Currently we have fractal data storage/relay working as a alpha test and after some tweaks it will be publicly released. In the meantime the team and I have worked on a fun little solution to users having something to do while they wait for these features coming this year 🙂

In the meantime users will get to see the chain handle some testing for the fractal storage and site on chain with the upcoming Java based game example. It's reminiscent of what some crypto projects have done by having crypto integrated Minecraft servers, but with actual Espers flair and much more. Using this we will be testing storing things on-chain via Fractal and even prototyping the Site on chain feature as well.

This will all be publicly accessible and viewable until the public testing is released later this year. What's great is this provides us with real world testing and "tuning" to optimize what we have built using community input and then truly give it a propper stress test with a public beta phase 🙂
