Can you add my friend and I? I'm Pardus79 and he's BlitzM4.

Done! You can now use real bitcoins with these accounts

Dooglus, I think you made a mistake [...]

How dare you!  Wink

You have to right-click your bet to collect your winnings.  When you hit a mine you lose your initial bet plus any winnings so far.

This makes the game really bad value.  Every dig gives 20% of your (bet+winnings) to the house on average.  That's 7.4 times worse for the player than playing roulette, which only takes 2.7% of your bet each spin on average.

It is correct that the game has a 20% edge. What I am working on at the moment is a jackpot payout to Minefield. 50% of losses will go into the jackpot. When a player hits every square but the remaining mines, he wins the jackpot. ((Player Bet/Table Max)*Jackpot)

Posted September 2011. Way before I even knew about bitcoins or bitvegas was thought of.

This isn't related Smiley

Ah I see :-D

Anyways, I'm sitting at work thinking about BitVegas, and the odds of your blackjack game

Things that give your game a big house edge over players:
  • Shuffling after every hand (obviously necessary online to avoid card counters)
  • Blackjack only pays 6/5 instead of 3/2
  • You can't split

Things that give your game a player edge over others:
  • Player gets paid 6/5 on blackjack even if dealer also hits blackjack

The first list greatly outweighs the second, and probably gives the house over a 5% edge, which is huge for blackjack. This is absolutely fine, but it could really piss some people off if they were unaware of the rules (I can image someone playing a few hands, starting to throw down big money, getting AA on a 1 BTC bet, and being really mad that they can't split)

The best thing might be to add another help book that explicitly states the exact rule variations your game uses.

The dealer doesn't 'peek' for blackjack before you act either.  So you might split your 8's and double down when you've already lost because the dealer has blackjack.  Every BTC blackjack site I know won't let you play if the dealer has blackjack.

Paying out when both player and dealer has blackjack is probably a bug, I would guess.

I'm not sure people will be willing to play at the casino if the house edge is too big when there are such low house edges available elsewhere.  But maybe the minecraft element makes up for that to some players.  Personally I'll play where the odds are best.

Thanks for your feedback welliamwallace and dooglus.

Splitting is currently being worked on and will be added.
I will also be adding new tables with 3:2 payout on blackjack.

This will happen within the next few days

You're welcome.

Another thing that would help would be to use card images instead of just text for the cards.  I don' know if you can use higher resolution graphics on minecraft than you currently have.  If not that may be a problem.

Also it's nice if the dealer pauses a little between cards when dealing his own hand.  Currently it looks to me like he gets all his cards at once (except for the first one, of course), and very soon after that the game is over.  I like to be able to watch his cards appear one by one.

Nice idea.   My son likes it because it is minecraft, and I like it because of the BTC.
Maybe we could also bet on how long Creeper can survive in the minesweeper game?
You could have horse racing with minecraft sheep.

So are you going to craft some fountains and light displays too?

Sheep racing is a great idea! Ofcourse it will be done by npc sheep with the outcome determined before the race Smiley.

I have not spent a lot of time on the actual look of the casino yet so yes there will be some cool stuff like fountains etc. I may even get some people in to help me with this if they are willing.

People could grow their own sheep and train them to race against each other. It beats gold farming lol.

That could work although I plan on making it along these lines:

4 or so animals are spawned at the start of the round. Each one is assigned a % chance of winning.
If the animal is given a 50% chance of winning. It will pay out 1:1. If it is given a 20%. it will pay out 5:1 etc. (A house edge will be applied ofcourse)

This way you can either bet on the 'favourite' which has the highest odds of winning or try your luck for a huge payout. Just like real horse racing.

I really think this is a good idea, but I already gambled away way too many bitcoins on other sites.

Hope this works out you guys.

I think the black jack tables could use some improvement, if someone were to sit down and start playing, someone else could walk in front of them and prevent them from playing once they have put down bitcoins.

When I win a 1 BTC hand of blackjack, it tells me I won 2 BTC.  That includes my original stake, not just my profit.

When my pig wins at 2x multiplier on a 1 BTC bet, it tells me I won 1 BTC.  That's just my profit, and doesn't include the stake.

I think you should pick one of the other and be consistent across all games.  I think the blackjack way is better, because then you don't have to take the stakes into account.  Currently if I bet 1 BTC on 2 different 2x pigs and one wins, it tells me I won 1 BTC, which isn't true at all.  I won 2 BTC in total, and bet 2 BTC, so my net profit is 0 BTC.  If you're going to subtract the stake you should subtract all the stakes, not just the winning one.

A real example:

I had 3.8195 BTC.  Bet 1 BTC on 3 different pigs, then had 0.8195 BTC.
One of my pigs won, with a 3.5x payout.
The game told me I had "won 2.4975", and then my balance was 4.317 BTC.  So I was up 0.4975 after winning 3.4975.
There's no 2.4975 anywhere.
