1 last Q: where if anywhere can I see specific threads that I started as 'show posts' just shows all threads that I've posted including but not exclusively those I started.

Do you want us to give you a link where you can see the unread threads that has your reply in it? Well, it's on the top left of your webpage. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unreadreplies. You can see the unread thread that you started there as well as the threads that you have unread replies.

Thanks - No I was looking specifically of a way of keeping an eye on threads that I had specifically started myself.
Other than marking as unread. The best method I have found is simply book marking them in a folder on my browser.

I have 2 other questions for any knowledgeable out there:
1) Is there any way of being alerted via email/phone or any other method that lets me know someone has reponded to my thread?
2) If  someone leaves me a negative feedback then they decide it was unwarranted, is it possible for that person to delete there feedback if so how?

Most new members now get negative trust for some reason.
Even check mine, and you will see there were two people that were annoyed that a Jr Member knew better and wanted to offer his opinion.
Strange, you can never get information back from what is messaged to shese people.

It is usually good to try not to stand out in the first few weeks of joining, once you do someone will find something wrong - a reason to give you negative trust - as this is what the members appear to have turned to.

Also, the mods and admins don't appear to remove negative tust of mae much of an effort to help resolve these issues that are created.

If  someone leaves me a negative feedback then they decide it was unwarranted, is it possible for that person to delete there feedback if so how?

Yep, there's a delete button if you've written a feedback on someone. Negative trust from non-DT members doesn't actually matter that much. Unless they've put a solid proof on the reference link. It'd be more likely that a DT member would also put a negative trust on you and that will make your account completely worthless.

From non-DTs it still matters.
I treat all members the same when judging a user's trust before doing a trade.
A user that has legit negative trust from a non-dt member will be treated in the same way to a person that doesn't!

Did you really read my post? I did say that "Negative trust from non-DT members doesn't actually matter that much. Unless they've put a solid proof on the reference link." Usually the victim just open a thread in scam accusation boards and post the solid proof there. The DT members will then put a negative trust on the accused user. Even if a non DT member puts a negative trust on someone, the trust rating will remain neutral. That's why a DT member is needed.

Yes, but I think that a DT member that posts trust without a reference should have their rating considered similarly to a non DT member.
What you said is true that all members that add solid proof should be considered equally to DT trust scores. However, all DT membermay not give a user direct negative or  positive reputation as a result so this should not be relied upon. Also, it is more likely for people to get negative trust than positive trust so it is harder to judge people based on their trust reputation.

The trust system is very arguably flawed, and because of DT there is nothing balancing "good" and "bad" DT members. Even though, if the DT is DT, then you WILL get red and you will be untrusted. It's pretty bs, but it's life. Most people don't bother to check why they were - repped, so most of the time they get flamed in threads for "shut up you're a red trust person".

And now my part.

If you're going to learn anything in this forum, tread carefully. Don't do foolish things that will get you untrusted. Although newbies are often not trusted and just generally looked down upon with many things, don't let that bring you down. Look around before posting something here if you're unsure that it'll get you in trouble. Even if you do get negative trust, there must be a reason and usually, if it isn't too bad, you can work it out with whoever gave you the negative trust from DT.

You learn from experience, and eventually if you stick around long enough, you'll get the hang of the forum and like it a lot more. It's just getting past the first few ranks.
