Most people complain about governments manipulating fiat currencies and now you want to do the same with Bitcoin? Shame on you, for even asking people to do this. Bitcoin should be immune against any form of manipulation. We should put Bitcoin in as many people's hands as possible to distribute the wealth and to prevent whales or groups of wealthy people to manipulate the price.

We should improve the failures of the previous currencies not profit from the new technology and create new wealthy individuals or groups, who has the power to manipulate your wealth, because they have enough money to do that.

In terms of pure buying/selling power, I don't think the Bitcointalk community stands a chance, there are way bigger players in the game at this point, maybe a few years back it might have been possible. However, if it was no holds barred campaign, we could maybe cause some disruption, after all we do have a small army of Bitcoiners here. We would still require a genius strategy, a very carefully planned social media campaign, a high degree of coordination within the group, a good number expert-level trolls and everyone should be ready to sacrifice the Bitcoins they hold at a moment's notice.
In other words no, I don't think the Bitcointalk community can manipulate the market  Embarrassed

it's definitely possible if you have enough people with a good amount of coins to hold them for a very long time, but the words of the people here don't have any value since they change their mind on a daily basis. i am more a supporter of letting the market do what the whales want. that's happening in every market. it allows us to make profit and to buy back at lower levels.

Yeah, or one of the riches people of the world is buying - buying - buying (price does not matter).
Why are diamonds so expensive? Because 90% are staying in the stock and the big dealer on the world are controlling the market and price with it  Shocked

At the moment bitcoin seems not to be a danger for the big player. Such a stresstest would be very intersting to see and who would win at the end.
Maybe some persons then have the bitcoins - and all are using lite-/dodge-/eth-/whatever-coin.

But its nice to see how everybody wants something from the gooooold.
But its not so funny this time - no native americans to slaughter down and no oil-fields to burn - even no hunt on a certain person is possible --- bitcoin is just to boring for the big players Tongue Grin

Yes we can do it I think, as there are a lot of people here who have a large amount of coins, so in that case we can do that, we have to create our own legit community and have to make some rules for the pricing of bitcoin, but if the price outside here gone lower people will not buy from from there so it will be useless.

If you look deeply, you will know how bots are trading in most of the big exchangers are big players doesn't have much time to manipulate market manually so those are bots which manipulate market and make all manual traders to loss.

I know there are many big players who manipulate bitcoin price and make huge profits but can we the bitcointalk members also form a cartel and let bitcoin price never fall?is it possible that we manipulate price as I am sure most of bitcoin users visit this forum

that is an interesting question. and i think the answer depends on how much money this "we" owns. bitcoin market is not longer a small market like 3-4 years ago it has grown so big that in order to manipulate it you would need a huge capital.
but don't underestimate the power of FUD and hype, it is sometimes so powerful that can change the price easily.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

As much as I'd hate to say, but the "bigs" are those who may be able to manipulate the price of bitcoins believe it or not. If some groups/companies have the capacity to hoard the supply of bitcoins, that would greatly affect the price of bitcoins because of the supply and demand rule.

as everything in this world if something can be manipulated by humans, it will be manipulated, obviously bitcoin is not an exception, you can be 100% sure that this is already happening in many ways everywhere( i mean in exchanges etc etc).

btw, dont care about what humans can do with bitcoin, bitcoin cant be manipulated and this is the only important thing at least from my point of view, the rest cant be avoided.

It's being done all the time, but it's way too hard. You need coordination, and you need a big amount of BTc, that's why few people can pull it off. Most of the people that actually manipulate prices are in private groups that are very secretive and are confirmed millionaires. You can't manipulate shit unless you have at least 1 million dollars in BTC because marketcap is already 7 billion (nothing in the grand scheme of things but high enough so most people can't manipulate it)

Trading bots have indeed taken over the exchanges compared to manual traders.

But the people behind these bots are constantly looking at what their bots are doing, and even take action when their bot is being played by an other bot.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

I think it is not possible to manipulate the price with the help of the users from here on bitcointalk, there it will be impossible to persuade everyone to follow the guidelines provided to them for bringing that manipulation, and there will be a lot of people who will want only their own benefit and will not heatedly work for the community.

Here's another sign that BTC is still in its infancy. Twenty years from now, when BTC will be worth more than $10,000 nobody would have the silly idea of trying to manipulate its price. Let's just wait...

I do not think it will go to such a insane 10k, its so unrealistic, most likely the price is gonna rise to a higher amount but not so high.
Right now the price can still be manipulated indeed because the fact is that there are still people that have so much bitcoins that they can, plus also a lot of speculators are doing this..

Right now its still possible indeed because people are very insecure about the bitcoin, they are scared that it will collapse.
The rule is really for newbies, they are influenced very easily in my eyes.

Sure how the whales can do it , so can we do it, however it takes a lot of money. Remember the mining pools hold a lot of bitcoin too, which makes it hard to compete with.

I didn't say we should manipulate bitcoin,I said can we manipulate it's price and there's a difference in manipulating price and manipulating bitcoin which is not possible in any case.

I think community can drop price and whales can't stop it. So if we need get bitcoin from them we just need to drop price, but better not abusing this.
