Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price?

Off course it is able to manipulate the bitcoin price if all the peopel who owns bitcoins will hold their coins you will see the price dropping if we all trading with each other he will rise.

I think it is impossible for bitcoin users would hold them, then no transactions and the sale or purchase in the market? lol I think it is impossible. for possible price manipulation I agree, it could be done by someone who's smart and has a lot of capital. and probably more than 1 million dollars

We do have an option to hold our bitcoins or sell it but if we do not own a major percentage of the total market of bitcoin then there is no way we can manipulate the price of bitcoin, we are just here to observed the market and decide base on our analysis.

I guess only the whales of the bitcoin ecosystem are the ones who are going to be able to manipulate the bitcoins price.

Remember the bitfinex case when they got hacked 120,000 BTC was hacked and that changed immediately the price of bitcoin to fall.

So when another whale wants to make the price of bitcoin to increase, they can just do it easily.

I remembered reading an article from bloomberg which talks about China who wants to make Yuan the strongest currency of all. But they do have the largest bitcoin investment with them. Just thinking, is it one reason that can make them strong? Are they manipulating bitcoin without anyone realizing it will be the cause for Yuan to be strong. This will all be answered in the future.

the bitfinex hack and the big drop was not a work of a whale or whales. it was the work of all of us who are trading bitcoin. everybody started selling because they knew very well that price is going to drop and rise immediately after and no trader passes on that opportunity lightly.

Also some of the big whales movement of the price increase or decrease started in those Chinese exchanges since if they will succesfully start a trend there, others exchanges will follow.

But you know, months ago before the halving, CN devaluates their Yuan and that is one of the reason why the price rose prior to halving.

Absolutely right, and we cannot really tell who owns a majority number of bitcoins because we are living in a anonymous world, the fact that we are growing that is not only because of big countries but also from small countries they help to make bitcoin grow its popularity.

When we're using an exchange, the transactions are being completed on the Blockchain too. This means the price can be manipulated by exchanges too, and this is part of the price business. If I had a million bucks and would transfer it dozens of times, the price would be instantly up a few dollars. We're part of the price, we make it change.

so how much the exact money to manipulate the price? i don't think,only "rich" is not enough but very rich could probably enough,bitcoin's volume in 24H taken from coinmarketcap is $44,481,200,i'm just curious how in this world people would spend millions dollar for only manipulating bitcoin while the chance is uncertain

It is possible because we have seen whales in the industry but since we are increasing in volume it would be hard for them to manipulate already. That is why I am loving bitcoin to trust my future investment because the future will bring me good profit, if the price will be manipulate I am sure it will be up.

Yes or a large group of people that will really sacrifice their time and effort to make a movement. But I doubt that will happen. Selfishness will always come to the top first before helping each other and one more is why would they entrust their beloved coins for the group sake.

At some exchanges you can influence, manipulate the price of bitcoin in around 20-50 dollars, but you need to have atleast 1-2 btc, at big exchanges were the bitcoins are traded all minutes your attempt will mean maybe a raise or drop of cents and just.

I think its not possible and although I like the idea of forming a bitcoin talk forum cartel it cannot be done. How will you manage to put almost 1 million users having the same idea and who will be the highest lord of this cartel ?  Better hold your coins in your wallet and hope for the best.

Not really possible although its just the bitcoin demand not the people who really uses it if the bitcoin demand still increase then the price of bitcoin wil be increasing too for me it really doesnt matter if what the price really goes as long as were earning bitcoins and much better to hold it.

i think yes it is possible to manipulate the price of bitcoin but it is not such an easy job you can do that only if you have a lot a lot and a lot of money, as bitcoin is a universal currency and therefore it is not so easy to manipulate the price of bitcoin.
