I know there are many big players who manipulate bitcoin price and make huge profits but can we the bitcointalk members also form a cartel and let bitcoin price never fall?is it possible that we manipulate price as I am sure most of bitcoin users visit this forum
That's the bad thing because we cannot manipulate the price of bitcoin. If it is just possible to hold bitcoin price we can easily do our plans for the future. But we can't, we can just expect for the price increase right now because it's really tempting when bitcoin is very high. You can't control your self to have a dream that will make come true. |

The bitcoin marketcap is currently around $ 200 billion, and if we want to control the price we must have more than $ 100 billion, and I do not think there's anyone who has $ 100 billion so I'm sure no one can manipulate the price.
This is really beyond our imagination and I think if this coin can be manipulated then only the big whales can have the power to do this imo. We know that if there is a sudden ups and downs we actually think of some powerful people like these big whales who might control this crypto. Maybe, that's just one of the many reasons that affects the price of crypto. |

We can't but whales can manipulate the price of the bitcoin. The reason why the bitcoin is always pumping and dumping is because of the whales in the cryptocurrency market. Their power can really manipulate the price of the bitcoin. |

Yup, I do think so. The price of bitcoin cannot be easily controlled. The price is created by the community and it requires a huge amount of money to stabilize the price of bitcoin. Therefore, we can say that there is no way to control its price |

I think its not possible and although I like the idea of forming a bitcoin talk forum cartel it cannot be done. How will you manage to put almost 10 million users having the same idea and who will be the highest lord of this cartel ? Better hold your coins in your wallet and hope for the best.
There are two ways of looking towards this aspect, first is that the market of the crypto currency is decentralized therefore it’s me, you and every member who has bitcoin can manipulate the bitcoin price because it’s we all who matter in this market, other is that if you want to effect the market heavily then you must be having a financially strong social circle with a lot of bitcoins in your wallet so that every move of yours should have an impact on the market. |

The daily trade volume of Bitcoin is in billions of USD. That makes it extremely difficult to manipulate the exchange rates, unless you have liquid cash of at least $500 million available with you. My advice would be to go after some of the altcoins, rather than focusing on BTC.

Nice and very good thoughts on that mate. I think manipulating bitcoin's price by forming a cartel is not good because you are like forming a syndicate. Let bitcoin's price flew without any manipulation because it is decentralized and if we control it, it would defeat it's purpose of being decentralized. |

We can manipulate the price of bitcoins if we are rich enough to invest a huge amount and make the price of bitcoins decrease in the lowest price but since no one can really afford that then we cannot really change the price of cryptocurrency. |

seems difficult at all to manipulate the price of bitcoin, because I think that determines the price of bitcoin is the users themselves, if they are selling them together in large numbers, then the effect will taste the bitcoin prices.
To control the price of this market unless the people who are holding large amounts of BTC sit back and work together, then I think the bitcoin price will be adjusted to their will. This is very risky for newcomers to bitcoin. |

Big players has only the right to manipulate the price ,for me as a beginner i'll just go with the flow as long as i can do it into the right actions and the price still reasonable,let it go into its natural flow. |

It depends about who is "WE" . If you are a sathosi or other top ten wallet's owner you can actually control its price by dumping right now all BTC you have. But I do not think you'd do such a thing unless you changed totally your mind about the power of revolutionary monetary world. But it could be a possibility. And I forget to mention: if you do that right now you can only be a fool  We'll see in a year or so. |

Well bitcoin can be manipulated since the begining, now is more clear that some whales group, as well good or bad news does make price to change, but the worse is the attacks over exchanges or big projects with a lot btc from users, that make they left or loose their full capital. Nowadays a manipulation at bitcoin does cost milions and need whales supports, to keep the dump or pump for a while and then let the market to test the values.

One of the ways that people are able to manipulate the price of Bitcoins is by spreading FUD which in turn make most investors panic and leads them to sell their Bitcoins which drives the price of Bitcoins and then those who created the FUD buy at a very low price. |

yes the price of bitcoin can be manipulate but think it is not such an easy job, it need a lot of bitcoin you have because bitcoin is a universal currency and almost use in all the countries of the word, so it is not so easy to manipulate the price of bitcoin.

For manipulate bitcoin we have to be in unity, only we people can create huge demand of bitcoin and lower the supply by holding bitcoins. Then you can imagine what would the scenario.
recently google bans crypto ads, we took this as worst case, we sold coin at low price and price got smashed.
from these kind of examples, we people can learn lesson for realization that we have power to manipulate then why we would not able to do that?
Question arises but no one want to answer because they feel insecure with their crypto asset. Lets change the thinking and play the game with your own rules.

We can manipulate the bitcoin price if we are programmers because there are a lot of developers out there who are taking advantage of their skills and planning to manipulate the market price in order to earn more profit or stole coins. |
