True peer-to-peer data in the browser

Hello,

It is interesting to see that real p2p (or should we say browser 2 browser) is coming. If someone is interested about implementing p2p softwares it could be done easily with http://peerjs.com/ - any p2p can be implemented to the modern web browser. Currently it works only with developing versions of Google chrome/chromium browser, but it is soon reality.

Ahmia team is really interested to code something with this technology. DHT JavaScript library would be a nice start.

Let's code some open source! Just for fun!

This is full of some very exciting possibilities, I'd say. With HTML5 maturing as it is, it's almost possible to make anything work in a browser. In the next few years, we're probably going to see a lot of things navigating away from static apps and into cloud-based web applications, mostly because they run cross-platform and don't need to be installed to be used.

That said, I'd like to see something like Freenet have its connection stack reimplemented in HTML5. Imagine the possibilities, being able to go to any site and have the actual traffic rerouted into an encrypted, anonymous P2P network... Mega is the first step.
