Apple products are never cheap, even if we talk about cables. At a second thought, you still have some chances for original Apple cables, probably second hand (or stolen).
I think that you should really try another look at "the chinese crap". Meaning, even Apple phones are after all made in China.

Now back to subject: I recommend you take a good look into AliExpress.com. It's like a Chinese EBay. Some products are bad quality, some are good. Some are at fair price, some are (way) overpriced.

I can provide you apple certified cables..meaning apple tested and approved and gave authorization to manufacture the cables.
Apple does not manufacture braided cables.
