Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Syscoin (SYS) is a blockchain, a distributed ledger, a decentralized database, a global network, a revolutionary marketplace in which you may safely and consistantly purchase and sell numerous products. While the markets are in global downtrend, most altcoins follow the direction of BTC but keep crashing faster. During such periods trading is risky, so it's up to you if you want to trade or sit it out and wait for the trend reversal. Our goal is to find rare coins that keep rising even when BTC is tanking and profit from them.

Still getting "Waiting to connect to peers..." though for an hour now, even after dropping nodes in config.

Any ideas?

Make sure your computer/laptop isn't going into sleep mode. For troubleshooting, join us on our Slack #help channel, DM me your e-mail address for an invitation to our slack.

Sleep mode? C'mon, man :-)

I uninstalled/reinstalled it as "All users" instead of "Current users" and somehow that worked. Really hard to tell what's going on with the block syncing when it first starts out, but it *looks* like it's syncing.

Smiley You would be surprised at how many times that was the problem

Thanks, I'll make sure to remember that, that was for Window 10 I assume?

Yep, win10.

When should we be expecting blockmarket web to be up and running? I seem to remember it should be coming soon. Cheesy

What if a buyer purchases something from a seller and never receives the item? How is that type of situation resolved in Blockmarket?

Syscoin has the world's first decentralized 3rd-party escrow platform built-in directly to Blockmarket.

The buyer simply chooses an arbiter that both the merchant and buyer trusts to secure the purchase.

I appreciate those details. That seems like a good technique to settle such issues. I'm glad to see you guys are thinking from both the buyer and seller's perspectives and have situations like this thought out.

So, I just saw this on Reddit. Apparently someone is selling Syscoin shirts Cheesy: https://fastprintcrypto.com/collections/t-shirts-men/products/short-sleeve-unisex-t-shirt-to-support-syscoin-cryptocurrency-sys

Is it official? I'd like one but I also want to support the team and not a random person!

It's not technically official but since Syscoin is opensource, anyone can use the logo as they please.

I'm pretty excited about this. Thanks for the share. I know you guys have a lot of real work to attend to, but if you ever did decide to sell shirts I'd buy one from you guys too!

You might've just not noticed the progress bar moving very slowly during the initial sync - that's what happened to me. I made a note to the devs that it's not clear if the UI is frozen during that initial sync.

I don't fully understand the purpose of the master nodes. I didn't see a lot about it in the whitepaper. Is there a simple and straightforward article on it that you recommend?

The current whitepaper is really for Syscoin 2.1, we are working on the whitepaper for the next core version of Syscoin. Here's the recent documentation we've written:

https://medium.com/@BlockchainFoundry/syscoin-identities-blockmarket-1-1-release-masternodes-and-more-f15070a386c5

https://medium.com/@BlockchainFoundry/token-issuance-on-syscoin-platform-and-masternode-innovations-90988579585a

Thanks for the link. That helps a lot. I'll do some research on the new documentation and I'm sure I will be back for questions later.

I've been hearing some rumours that Syscoin will be on Binance soon. Is that true or, at least, in the works?  Grin

If we are to be added, we would certainly appreciate it, but we have no knowledge of being added soon or ever.

We heard a rumor yesterday that it would be added today that it would be have been added today, however, the entire day has passed and it is past 6AM in South Korea, we have not been added so I can only assume that the rumors are false.

So that's just a rumor? yes at least it has not been news for sure, everything may have been a bit quiet about it, while binance is currently down and can not be accessed.

Only Binance can really confirm or deny the rumor, we aren't aware when or if Binance will list us. As I am their first point of contact, I've reached out to many exchanges, including Binance but that's all I can really do.

I think it's awesome that you guys are reaching out to many exchanges. I know many of us are waiting for it and appreciate it!

Thanks I appreciate it, I'm confident that we will get on more prominent exchanges eventually. It will be hard to ignore Blockmarket Web and all the other great things we have coming!

Thanks for the reply. I'm sad it's a rumor but I am glad that you guys are reaching out and actively trying to get on prominent exchanges. I am looking forward to the day when it happens. Smiley

Bittrex is a great exchange. The way they are handling business, setting up to comply with US law and bringing big guns on board, it will no doubt be the biggest exchange in the world by end of 2018

You can use either platform, both will accept the same wallet.dat, Blockmarket, however, gives you a much better experience with regards to the marketplace & UI experience.

I have an old wallet 0.13.2, and it says "no block source" available

Do I just need to download the new wallet?

Syscoin is bitcoin’s smarter, cheaper little brother

Syscoin is a bitcoin rival backed by Blockchain Foundry Inc, which just received more than C$3.3million in funding to catalyse its growth in 2018 https://business-reporter.co.uk/2018/02/14/syscoin-is-bitcoins-smarter-cheaper-little-brother/

Yep, win10.

Thanks!

Wow, that looks like a pretty big press hit, and the price seems to be confirming. However, could we stop this, as I keep missing the dips!  Smiley

OK fine I will buy at 7k

When should we be expecting blockmarket web to be up and running? I seem to remember it should be coming soon. Cheesy

We haven't provided a date yet, for Blockmarket Web to be released, as soon as it is determined (after testing and completion of Syscoin core 2.2, Syscoin API 2.0), then Blockmarket Web will be released. We always do our due diligence and will ensure to provide a secure product for everyone. Stay tuned on our blog https://medium.com/@BlockchainFoundry
