AUR is listed for mining on sky-pool.com with sha-256
Bitcointalk of pool: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1673242.0

That's nice notice . I will mine auroracoin in this pool because I have a permant account of sky-pool on it for mining.
I believe that AURACOIN will be a best coin in iceland maybe it will be chosen as digital currency in the near future.

i'd love to see cryptoID explorer back up ..

They require payment to keep it running. Feel free to pay them to do so, but don't expect any help from the dev team.

i'd love to see cryptoID explorer back up ..

you can use the "official" explorer: http://insight.auroracoin.is/ or even this old one: https://explorer.auroracoin.eu/

There's probably even more...

The team has paid for all infrastructure fees out of pocket so far.  With the monthly costs of servers and such, we felt like funding another explorer just wasn't a necessity. It's a great explorer, and it was my personal go-to explorer for most things.  However, until the necessities of use are taken care of, the cost of extras isn't even a consideration for us at this time.

EDIT- Forgot to mention.  This explorer is pretty decent too, and might fill some of the void- https://bitinfocharts.com/auroracoin/explorer/

just kidding, but cryptoID is sexy one, with geo-loc and such, i'd love it, just that
will live w/o though, having my own headaches

It's my personal opinion that if cryptoID wants to be paid for servicing an explorer for any coin, it's up to the users to decide wether they think that is worth their investment. I see more and more chains dropping off their list lately, because like us, many dev teams don't see the need to pay for services that they already provide themselves (insight.auroracoin.is).

I think by losing a lot of chains this way they are shooting themselves in the foot so to speak. I've deleted the site from the ANN.

Will Aurora be used nationwide in the next years? I hope this one survives.

Nice, but you can't pay Icelandic bills though ;-)

You could get one of those Polish bank accounts with an IBAN, and then pay via debit card.  I'm guessing there's all sorts of fun money laws against that though!  Grin

I'm selling my car for auroracoin. 1999 Toyota Yaris runs great and efficient.

However, i'm fairly certain there will be a fiat middleman....   but will accept 20k AUR

Cryptopia volume looks really weird. Someone is buying and selling the exact same amount again and again.

Sorry about the noob question, but how do I go about mining Aurora Coin? I'm Icelandic and I've held/used AUR since the airdrop but now I'm considering if there's any use in starting to mine it.

Is there any use trying to mine with a standard home-PC using CPU only?  Undecided

Qubit, Skein and Groestl could still be mined with CPU, although don't expect too much from it. In short for the easiest way of mining.

1) Find the folder that contains your wallet.dat file.
2) create a file "auroracoin.conf" in that folder with the line "algo=<algoname>". Replace <algo> by, "qubit", "skein" or "groestl" and save the file.
3) Open the wallet and go to the debug screen, to the command line tab.
4) Enter "setgenerate true [cores-to-use]". [cores-to-use] is optional, if not set all available cores are used, so you can use this to use less cores.
5) Use the command "getmininginfo" to see if it is running fine.
6) Wait.

Do note it can take very long before you find a block this way.

Better is to do mining with a standalone miner program and use that to connect to a mining pool.
