Is this a serious comment?

Of course it's functional. Read the thread or if you have a real question, either post it here or send a mail to support@marginsoftware.de

Hi, Jonathan.

I've noticed that the app won't close after running it for more than 24 hours (It just keep on saying Shutting Down for hours). I've left it for half a day but it's still running, so I decided to terminate it through the task manager. After relaunching the app, all of my settings and bots disappeared. I hope there's a way for us to save individual bots in a separate file which you can import or export.
I've encountered this on Windows 10 using the latest version of the bot, I didn't have this problem in Ubuntu.
Please advise.

Hi Biege,

You can manually save all strategy settings while leonArdo is running by right clicking the strategy button and saving all.

Of course leonArdo should close properly, but we also know from experience that there are certain circumstances when it doesn't. It's something that we hope to improve going forward.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Wow. I didn't know this feature exists! Thanks man!

I'm sure you can find and kill that pesky bug. Smiley

Regards,
Biege

Hi, im new to this

Where can read up about margin maker strategy, how to set it up and what it is trying to achieve?

Ping pong seems too inflexible to use, with margin maker do you often  end up with  'bags' when market tanks?

Yes, if you have invalid amount shown, it means you don't have even the minimum needed to trade.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in leonArdo.

The main difference between the static ping pong and mArgin maker bots is that the ping pong bot is static and the mArgin maker in dynamic. What that means is that with the ping pong bot you explicitly set a buy and sell price and that is all the bot does. If the course bounces between those pre-determined prices the bot will cycle through buy and sell orders. In contrast to this you don't set a buy and sell price for the mArgin maker bot, but rather you set a relative margin which adapts based on the history window - which continually adapts to what has happened. This means that it allows for prices to be dynamically chosen. There are other parameters you can set to ensure the bot behaves like you want it to such as: don’t sell below a certain price or ensure a min gain has been achieved.

The minimum effective gain allows you set the amount you want to make on each trade cycle. This is the amount after exchange fees have been subtracted. Setting a negative value allows the bot to make a loss in the hope that it can continue trading and make a gain. Otherwise, the bot would stop until the course came back to it.

You can set a stop loss to ensure you are not left with bags  Wink

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Some people were asking for our Slack channel. We don't have one, but there is one that was set up by leonArdo customers.

Here is the link if anyone is interested: https://leonardough-slack.herokuapp.com

O.k. i was fairly new to trading software and bots at all and i have some "special needs" because of my ADHS which brought me a somewhat severe Dyscalculia which makes having a steady and clean overview a real hard task for me.

So i reached out to Jonathan to ask, how long one can 'play around' with the demo version (the answer is: virtually unlimited) and got my answers within 2 or 3 hours. Amazing!

So that makes leonArdo a really great tool to just play around and learn some basics in forex/crypto-trading, which is really nice on it's own.

leonArdo not only acts as a really nice trading terminal but it even gives you every bit of information you need for every single trade you plan to make, you can even directly see how much gain (or loss) you will make on any specific order, right before you send it of to the exchange. That's exactly what i needed! Very cool!

After some days playing around, trying the bots and getting familiar with the UI, i finally though, o.k. even if my holdings are not really that much so that i cannot expect to get my 'invest' in the software back within a day, i bought the license (for one exchange) and got it within hours too. Thanks Jonathan for being still at work that late for your customers.

Now, it's running on a (for now) dedicated laptop with some bots on a few pairs and, whoa, at least they made me half of the price back, i did not expect that at all but. Here we are.

It is a really great piece of software and every single penny worth.

In fact, i'm somewhat surprised that it is _that cheap_ at all, most similar solutions are way more pricey or you have to pay a monthly fee to use it.

I'm looking forward to get another license for the next exchange as soon as my holdings have reached a value where it makes sense to split them over to another exchange.  Cool

Even w/o the bots, it is just great! I love it! Wink

Hi all,

Wanted to try the demo,

- I downloaded the Demo here: http://marginsoftware.de/leonardo-papertrading.html
- Plateform: OSX
- Got the last Leaonardo.
- Created the API key in bittrex.
- Added the Bittrex API key to leonardo software.

Then I got:

"The secret key you gave is not registered to this product!"

What do I have to do to use the Demo software ?

Kind Regards,

Yes, we have to admit that the demo is unstable right now. A really nasty memory issue that randomly strikes and causes leonArdo to crash. It doesn't seem like the full version is affected.

We are working on a fix.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

I can confirm that. The demo crashed at least once every 24hrs (on a fresh and clean Windows 7 installation). It's a bit nasty but, well, support is on that and i will probably go a bit into that hunting it down on a separate machine. (just for curiosity. Wink)

But, it is only the demo version, the full/licensed version runs w/o any crashes at all (around 40hrs right now on my brand new license;)).

So ... yap, confirmed, the demo has some problems but that does not affect any paid license at all. 8-)
